One of my dad's friends' band members owns a recording studio in Richmond, Virginia, and they are one of the top three recording studios on the east coast, and THE best in the tide-water region (by some criteria, I'm not sure exactly what). If you go to their website http://www.lobe.com/ you can sign up for one of their classes and get some information (they have one scheduled now, and there's one in the Spring). They also do internships.

They record Mike Henry's voice for Family Guy/Cleaveland Show. They're also going some ADR for Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" (which I'm possibly working as an extra). Spielberg was there a couple weeks ago giving a press conference.

I haven't taken any of their classes yet, but I plan on doing so as soon as I turn 18 (and save enough money! )

Oh sweet I did an audition thing there once but i let my nerves get the best of me :/ Anyway I'll def be checking this out nice to see a fellow Richmonder around here!

I was at IYE last week for an into to the class, and got a tour of the studio. It's really neat! I won't be able to afford it, but the class looks very interesting, and it covers a LOT of ground as far as recording goes! Carlos says he has plans on having multiple classes available for a variety of subjects. They do a lot of stuff there. They record music, they hold press conferences, and they're one of the top recording studios on the east coast. If you're ever in the area, and you're into recording, I suggest checking this place out!
