Hey, everyone, just got back from watching Brave. I thought it was a pretty good movie. There were decent jokes, great action scenes and fairly engaging characters. The story, however, was basically Big Brother. It was nothing new. Admittedly, not Pixar's best, but it definitely wasn't Pixar's worst (that's Cars 2). But if you have children, this is a pretty good way to spend about two hours with them.

Post Re: Brave

The strengths of the movie come from both its visuals and acting. I've always admired Scottish landscapes, and it was no disappointment here. I was intrigued by the setup, and what the movie builds up to in the first act is very unexpected. The ads did a phenomenal job of hiding the film's true central point, which I rarely see in a movie nowadays due to trailers that give away about 90% of the entire plot. I do think the story at times has its weak points, like it's rather rushed narrative. However, I think it is all made up/forgiven with the third act, with it's themes, story, development, and altogether unpredictability coming in to steal the show.

Overall, I give it 9/10; 3 1/2 out of 4 stars.

I did enjoy Brave . To me it was different and I love how it took place in Scotland. The setting as well as the story was beautiful.
