So when users audition for fan projects, do they typical send in more than 1 audition per character? Do they send in revised auditions for the same character?

Basically since auditions will be submitted to voice project owners through the BTVA site. I was thinking 1 audition per character per project. I wanted to know if we should let users overwrite their initial auditions?

I guess then what I'm thinking is when the audition deadline is over, the project owner can tag the auditions they like best and send a generic message to the users who made it past the audition.

I'm wondering with fan projects, is there typically a round 2 of auditions or do the owners normally finalize their voice actors after the first set of auditions?

I want to build this system in the most simple way possible and make it easy to use.

I know with my latest project and others I am in I usually do or see one round of auditions. Where we can also select if enough people audition a understudy or backup role. I only see a 2nd round of auditions if we cannot get people to answer or get back with us. I like the idea other than that.

Sounds good. I'll make it so you can flag the audition who got the role, and then flag 2 backups.

What typically is the process after auditions? Do the actors to got the roles then get sent all the lines for the character they auditioned for?

Yeah that's typically it or they get the whole script and then from there send all their completed lines to an email account for that project.

Sorry I've been away... had a lot of things going on this week.

Yes, usually just one round of auditions are typically needed to gauge talent. It's up to the folks hosting the project to make sure they post enough varied line content and descriptive qualities they're looking for to best test everyone who auditions.

Once a person has been selected for a character they auditioned for... they'll get sent character lines or a full script via e-mail. Then, the voice actor will record the lines and send the files back to the project manager... based upon the required file format(s) explained in the project details.
