Probably. I really like Ruby's scythe (?), haha. That and I find its effect tends to come in handy. I have yet to pull one either.

I was disappointed when Arc-V didn't reuse her character theme. One thing I do prefer about the dub is how they've used some of 5D's and Zexal's dub score. I understand only being able to have so much music on a mobile game but that is the one downside to reusing the same theme for different characters. Agreed! I also think Bella Hudson's Mai sounds a lot better than it did in Waking The Dragons.

Yep! Not sure why they changed it to Crystal for the English release but it does help distinguish them and Gem-Knights better, haha. Topaz is great! I also love Gem-Knight Ruby.

It's great. I also really like Alexis' Duel Links music. It reminds me of her theme music from the Japanese version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSoDDvCi2Rw
And yeah, I don't either. I wish they'd do a unique theme for each Legendary Duelist, haha.

Mine too! Do be warned, it might make you a bit emotional. (or at least it did me )

That's cool! I really love the Gem-Knight archtype too. And is it just me or do they remind you of Jaden and Jesse's archtypes?

Yeah, I love how the Black Rose saga gives the more minor characters some depth. And it's really cool how they delve into the psychology of these characters and what makes them tick. The Wakaba two-parter is probably favorite, but that's a great one as well. I think they recasted it so Utena wouldn't be dueling herself? And agreed. I've been really impressed by what I've heard of Lisa Ortiz in a lot of New York dubs.

Oh, I gotcha now. Don't forget to get Arkana either! And not at all. You're actually more forgiving of the dub's dialogue than I am, most of the time. XD

Don't sell yourself short, my friend. But I do know what you mean. I feel the same way about myself.

Yay! Looking forward to seeing what you think of the Black Rose Saga. Good news is that starts getting better with episode 14. There's a noticeable improvement with the dub from that point onward.

I loved that too! I also thought that was a good duel for Crowler's character. Like you could tell he wanted Chumley to win but didn't hold back out of respect for his abilities.

Oh, you haven't unlocked GX World yet? And I'd recommend this site: http://duellinks.gamea.co/

It has a list of what cards are in what packs, making it easier to get the cards you want.

I do care! Thank you so much for sharing. You're super cute! I figured you would be, but you're even cuter than I expected.

I don't think it was changed as bad as 5D's (outside of season 3, anyway), but yeah, it is scary. Fortunately Chumley does still come across as likable (especially in his duel against Crowler), but they really ran those grilled cheese jokes into the ground, haha.

Yep! I do like the creepiness of the anime version, but it does make it feel like Marik's treating her with kid gloves in comparison. Yet in the manga, she endures even worse torture than Yami or Jonouchi. Which is terrifying, but it really goes to show how tough Mai is.

True! They added that option a little before Duel Links added GX World, best I remember.

    Thank you!

Crowler's a silly character in the sub too, so I didn't mind his writing. It was a shame about Chumley though. He went from a likable character struggling with insecurities and depression into little more than a fat joke in the dub. (the Japanese version never made a single food joke about him)

Battle City was the best arc of the anime as far as manga-to-anime adaptation goes, but even it has some interesting differences. Like Mai's duel against Marik was just as brutal as Joey and Yami's in the manga. Even worse in some ways - since you had things like a monster drilling into Mai's skull and blood squirting out of her chest.

I definitely hear it, and agreed. I still like Ted's voice, but I must admit, I do tend to play with the Japanese voices option when using Yami Bakura, haha.

OH! And Merry Christmas, by the way.

Right. Those scenes worked because they fit the character or at least didn't feel too jarring for the mood of a scene. But 4K Media went a bit overboard with cases like Roger and Yuri, haha. It does make sense! Though GX was inconsistent in that regard too. Season 1 balanced humor and seriousness well, season 2 flip-flopped between gag dub and serious, and season 3 was full gag dub.

It certainly made the Dungeon Dice Monsters match a lot more dramatic, haha. I also thought Duke's character development was better in the manga. His motivation was different too - he stole it for his dad instead of Pegasus. Not sure why the anime decided to leave out his dad, but he did get a cameo in the Darkside of Dimensions movie at least. (he was the clown Joey was working for)

Exactly! XD I think that's the biggest reason why I prefer the subtitled version - it offers a more immersive experience. Even though I do like a lot of the dub voice actors and how they localized some lines, the dub shoehorning in stuff like that pull me out of the moment in comparison.
