Dude, I like this list just because it has Skullgrin, Thunderwing, Roadbuster, and and the Liege Maximo. All you need is Bludgeon and I will love you forever.

But seriously, this is an extremely large and ambitious list. Must've taken a long time to come up with.

Mr. Fennoy93, you don't happen to be "UltraAlanMagnus" on TFW, do you? If not, it's creepy how similar you two behave... ;)

That's a pretty solid cast, and I'd be all for it (especially Kassir as 'Screamer). Personally, I need to hear a more heroic Clancy Brown voice before I come to a conclusion because his main voice is too villainous for my Prime tastes. :D

And Jamieson Price as Megatron? I approve.

I came up with that because with that since Jamieson always dubs most of Joji Nakata's charecters and he happened to voice Megatron in Galaxy Force.

Plus Jamieson works as a evil overlord like Megatron.

Now I'm still debating if Michael Donovan should revoice Dirt Boss, Crosswise and Primus since i see he also worked for Bang Zoom! recently.

Starscream is my favourite Transformer since he's basically the ultimate represetation of all the 7 deadly sins plus he's amusing as a cunning schemer.

I love Steven Blum's take the most but I would also like to see what John Kassir or Quinton Flynn could do in the role.

Who would you cast Starscream in later Transformers incarnations?

TylerMirage
04-14-2012, 02:23 PM
If we had to go for VAs who haven't voiced Starscream yet, John Kassir would definitely be my first choice. But I'd also like to hear Brian Dobson (using his Skeletor voice, more or less) and Scott McNeil (using an altered Dinobot-raspy/Cobra Commander voice).

If they decided that a certain already-established-Starscream-VA would be the voice for all future versions of the character, I'd say that Steve Blum would be the best bet.

Nice list, Autovolt. If I had to pick the "shining stars" of your list, I'd really love to hear the following:

-Paul Dobson as Megatron: I always felt his Dr. Doom/deep tough guy voice could work for Megatron.
-Ty Olssen as Bulkhead: He's got that deep "dumb" (no offense, Ty) voice that would be a good match for Animated Bulkhead.
-Alvin Sanders as Porter C. Powell: His voice matches perfectly with that character. In fact, he played a very similar character in Yvon of the Yukon, a parody of the boxing agent Don King, who resembles Powell.

Is this for a particular series, Autovolt, or is it simply a generic all-encompassing cast from the franchise in general?

Generic all encompasing.

I'm still struggling to make my mind up.

My choices for Optimus Prime.

*Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek but I think he'd protray Optimus much like Mata Nui from Bionicle)

*Crispin Freeman (I think he'd be more fitting for a younger Optimus Prime than David Kaye David was good but it could be more gruffer)

*Jonathan Adams (He's more known for his villianous roles but I think as Optimus Prime it'd be a great way to show off his versitility. )

*Rick D. Wasserman (He can be gruff and I can see him giving Optimus that stoic but kind to humans approach like he does with Thor)

For Megatron:

*Clancy Brown (Very Obvious casting idea, though I'd try to have him voice Megatron in a deeper gruffer voice like how he does Savage Opress to make him sound different than how he does Silas in Prime)

*Miguel Ferrer (His voice is quite deep, he can give Megatron in a colder logical tone much reminisant of the TFA Megatron.)

*Travis Willingham (Give him a few more years, he could potientially voice Megatron. He can portray a charismatic villian like Mastermind in the X-Men anime)

*Keith Szarabajka (He could play Megatron up as a regal and somewhat arrogant conqueror like he does with Ronan the Accusuer and the Harbringer)

also the only reason I don't have Ron Perlman on here is because I want him to voice Gigatron/Overlord. Jim Cummings I too have considered but I think he'd work better as Scourge (He's more RID and Cybertron based than G1) Can you see him voicing Scourge in a Jeremy Irons esque voice.

Would you care for more other idea lingering around in my mind?

My turn. :D

http://cyraptor.deviantart.com/gallery/10089445 (reference)

Using the characters from CyRaptor's (amazing) fan art for his Transformers Legacy series, these are my picks. (Note, I'm using my magical powers to have VAs travel across the country to record. There is no restriction of certain VAs only working for certain companies, etc.. This is all imaginary and 'what if')

Optimus Prime: Neil Kaplan
Megatron: Clancy Brown
Bumblebee: Nolan North
Starscream: Scott McNeil (using a twist on his Cobra Commander voice)
Ironhide: Richard Newman (a gruff, angry Rhinox voice)
Soundwave: Kevin Michael Richardson (with a faint vocoder effect)
Arcee: Kath Soucie
Bonecrusher: David Kaye (essentially his TFA Lugnut voice)
Red Alert: Rob Paulsen (similar to his natural voice)
Skywarp: Richard Epcar
Prowl: Garry Chalk (in his stoic, Primal/Man-at-Arms voice)
Thundercracker: Fred Tatasciore
Jazz: Kevin Michael Richardson
Cyclonus: Maurice LaMarche
Wheeljack: John DiMaggio
Scavenger: Scott McNeil (using a more vicious, sinister BW Dinobot voice)
Mirage: David Kaye (think of a very mellow, laid-back, zen version of his natural voice)
Stormcloud: Grey Delisle
Grimlock: Fred Tatasciore
Shockwave: Leonard Nimoy
Ravage: Frank Welker
Laserbeak: Frank Welker
Rumble: Frank Welker

And even though there's no character art for it, if there was some sort of Sentinel Prime/Alpha Trion-esque character in the series, I'd pick Peter Cullen. :)

Michael Dorn: Good choice, good choice. Depending on the tone of the series, he could even pull an almost-comedic heroic Optimus. Like, overly heroic. Cheesily so, akin to his role as I.M. Weasel.

Crispin Freeman: Not really a fan of his stuff, but I agree that he would be more suited for a younger Optimus.

Jonathan Adams: All I can say is: MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

Rick Wasserman: Could definitely work, especially for a more "knight-ly" Optimus.

Clancy Brown: Obviously. ;)

Miguel Ferrer: Very nice. I can see him being similar to TFA Megatron.

Travis Willingham: Undecided at this point.

Keith: Of course. His Ronan-voice would work very well for a doomsday-bringer version of Megatron.

Transformers Prime. Ok, I won't change any of the cast they have thus far but what I WILL do though is cast character who've yet to appear (and god a few, some of them will.)

... *snip* ...

Silverbolt: James Avery (**** YOU MICHAEL BAY!!!)

May I ask why you have this sudden rage against Bay because of Silverbolt? I'm assuming you're referring to that article that stated James was voicing Silverbolt? There's one little problem with your anger: Bay had no intentions of including Silverbolt in any of his movies and never once said anything about casting James Avery.

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/james-avery-cast-as-voice-actor-for-new-transformers-3-character-169101/

http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=18877

http://www.examiner.com/article/uncle-phil-james-avery-isn-t-dead-after-all

These were all rumours that were only "confirmed" by Avery's representative. They weren't confirmed, or heck, even acknowledged by Bay. Not once - not ever, not in any of those interviews or any interviews at all - did Bay state to have a.) wanted to include Silverbolt or b.) cast James Avery. Notice how NONE of those interviews mention Bay's involvement at all? Notice how they all say that James Avery himself is stating this? Or that a representative of James Avery's was stating this? Bay never said anything on the matter.

This would be like me starting a blog about how "I HATE CHRISTOPHER NOLAN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO CAST ROBIN WILLIAMS AS THE PENGUIN BECAUSE IT WAS TRUE ACCORDING TO ROBIN WILLIAMS REPRESENTATIVE THIS IS ALL NOLAN'S FAULT WHY DID HE LIE TO US?! NOLAN WHY DO YOU FATE THE FANS?!? F**K YOU NOLAN EVEN THOUGH THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!!", when Christopher Nolan never once had that idea or intention. I don't hear people saying "Screw you, Jon Favreau, because you said you'd cast Ian McShane as Ultimo!". Why don't I hear those complaints? Because Jon Favreau never once said he'd cast Ian McShane as Ultimo. I haven't read any complaints about Kenneth Branagh lying to us about casting Shyla Stylez as Enchantress in Thor. But why haven't I heard those complaints? Because Kenneth never said anything about casting a porn star as Enchantress, nor did he have plans to. So why are you upset at Bay? For lying to us about Silverbolt? Because he never lied about that. You can't lie about something you had nothing to do with. Are people just looking for another reason to hate on Bay (believe me, there are plenty) and decided to use this example despite having nothing in the slightest to do with Bay? Which, unfortunately, betrays the fact that people don't bother to actually read the words in front of them.

Yes, maybe at some point in time this was actually considered, but as we can all see, not only did it NOT make it into the movie, but no where does it say anything about Bay's involvement with the decision. For all we know Bay had no idea this rumour was even going around. It could've been a mistake by Avery's representative who was misinformed, or overheard something wrong or whatever. The point is, this casting news was a rumour that was apparently "confirmed", and then promptly disproven, all without Bay.

Now, I'm not calling you out personally on this, Aussieroth, but this is why I absolutely can't stand some Transformers fans out there (Note: I am a Transformers fan myself). They will scrounge for any reason to start hurling the "F**k you Bay! You ruined my childhood forever you are a disgrace he was the worst choice he is so stupid!"-insults without even bothering to do any research or actually read the interviews.

On a more positive note...

Megatronus (The Fallen): Rick D. Wasserman

This, I wholeheartedly approve.

Whoa! Mate that was unnecessary! That was meant to be humourous.

I won't hide my disdain for Bay though, his transformers movies were just awful (ROTF in particular was insulting, parts even harmful) but they didn't destroy the franchise, a lot of smart people said they didn't like it for the same reasons the majority did.

As for Bay himself... I did research that man. Everywhere I look... I'm surprised that he's even still involved in directing, very few people liked to work with him. I remember someone calling him a "nice douche bag." Gotta admit that's kinda funny.

I don't know him as a person so I can't judge, but as a director... he's easily in my bottom 10, hell bottom 5.

I just hope the TF reboot or remake will come soon, because James Cameron once said he's still interested in doing it (and that was told to me by a voice actor involved with Transformers.)

So yeah, that was meant to be a joke, Bay should not be called a director and... I'm sane XD.

Also for the record.... I can't stand some of the TF fanbase either. Think they're bad though? Try the Final Fantasy fanbase! UUUUGH! FF7 may be my fave in the series (and in my op the best one) but I am so SICK and TIRED of people RAVING about it!

^Tim Curry as Galvatron? MY BODY IS READY.

Whoo, you were joking? Okay. :o Brosef, you don't joke about Transformers! They'er serious f**king business!

I think fanbases in general (except for the BTVA fanbase) are stupid. ;)

To go slightly off-topic (but at least things aren't hostile any more), to discuss a potential Transformers reboot/remake, just remember one thing: Just because it's not Michael Bay doesn't mean it'll be good. Believe or not, a reboot/remake without Bay doesn't guarantee that it'll be super great or not suffer from the same problems. :) Consider Punisher: War Zone (2008) compared to The Punisher (2004). Was War Zone really any much better or worse? Or The Amazing Spider-Man compared to Raimi's trilogy. For all the flak that Spider-Man 3 gets, TASM didn't really offer anything spectacularly new. It was just sort of...there. It was a reboot for the sake of doing things slightly different. Wasn't really much better, wasn't really much worse. There's just as great a chance of a reboot of Transformers being AWFUL AND CRAPPY (or let's say "on par with the original") as there is a chance of it being SUPER GREAT and blowing Bayformers out of the water. Yeah, we could get something that's great and does more justice to the franchise...but we could also end up getting something that does poorly at the box office, has negatively received designs and doesn't really improve on the mistakes of Bayformers. Food for thought.

Aussieroth
11-17-2012, 08:03 AM
Well... Yeah I could've delivered that joke better. And... as for the TF fanbase... well it's the GEE WUNers you've got to look out for XD. Otherwise... my god, that is such a strange yet passionate fanbase.

And true about the reboot... but the reboot did have more effort put into the one before.

As for Michael Bay, I don't like Bay's movies because of... well, his "patterns." Seriously, all of his movies are practically the same thing: Fast action, explosions and close ups of cleavage and booties. It's just annoying, and then when he did that and showed almost no creativity with the TF franchise... Just, SKids and Mudflap. Enough said. Granted he wasn't responsible for ALL the bad stuff but he takes the majority of it.

I don't like it because of the confusing, stupid and in a few cases harmful choices made, not because it's not G-1 XD. He claimed he tried to go for character development and what not.... well, if he truly did, Optimus wouldn't have flames XD XD XD. I'm sorry I had to!

Again, depends on the director. I did a director's course and I can tell you, they can get WAY too much power! They only thing they can't control is time and some cases money.

Anyywaaay I think with the right director, producers and actors, we could get something amazing. Say if we get James Cameron in the chair and Joss Whedon with the pen (along with Krutzman and Orci if they're still up for it) with Peter and Frank reprising their two big roles, we could get something as brilliant as The Avengers or The Dark Knight. It's in there I know it!

So yeah, forgive my bad joke, and there's a bit on how my mind works.

Now then.... I see that your title thing says Tim Curry as Galvatron.... oh lord please let that happen!

You know, I had always wanted to hear Peter Cullen try out a Megatron voice. After being Optimus so many times (especially recently), I thought that the next series should try something radically different and have Peter voice Megatron (Frank voicing Optimus would simply be the cherry on top), and lo and behold, here is Peter imitating Frank's Megatron voice.

And might I say...

After Peter Cullen retires from the role of Optimus Prime. Who would you like to see succeed him?

I for one would love to see Garry Chalk back in the role once more (and hopefully acting alongside David Kaye as Megatron).

Though if i were to think of a new actor who has never voiced Optimus Prime before, I think Michael Dorn (Worf, Star Trek TNG) would make for a great Optimus Prime.

What do you guys think.

I think it really depends on what future versions of Optimus are like. A young, inexperienced Optimus would warrant a different VA/voice than an older, wiser Optimus would.

I'd much prefer to see different VAs take a crack at Optimus before getting someone like Chalk, Kaye or Kaplan back, since they've already had their turns. ;) Michael Dorn, Rick Wasserman or even Brian Bloom could do well, in my opinion. Fred Tatasciore would be cool too (since I love Fred :D ), but also because his only outing as Optimus has been in MAD, and I don't even know what that sounds like.

I posted this video of Peter Cullen trying his hand at Megatron (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faoeM5jmkGE) in another thread (http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2657&page=5) a few days ago, so I think it'd be really cool if the next series (or game or whatever) featured Peter as Megatron and had Frank Welker voice Optimus!

He's pretty good in MAD, but under better direction, I think he could be great. Other parody voices from MAD I think are great include Nolan North's Shrek and Diedrich Bader's Iron Man.

Despite being far from a Transformers fan, I found it surprisingly simple (mostly thanks to the G1 Transformers show production bible) to get a grasp of each important character's most basic personality and put this cast together.

Now, I should note that for this particular cast listing, the characters that aren't Optimus, Ironhide, Arcee, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream each have both a male and female VA listed. That's because if I were in charge of a Transformers production, I'd have a good part of the cast be made female, if only because I'm finding the franchise's gender ratio to be horribly uneven, and I'm quite certain there's a female Transformers fan demographic that could use some appealing to.

And it is at this point that I highly regret not getting more Vancouver VA footage up on the site before being kicked off the team -_-;

Optimus Prime - Garry Chalk
Ironhide - Jay Brazeau
Jazz - Adrian Holmes / Rena Anakwe
Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime - Kyle Rideout / Kira Tozer

I'm sorry i don't like this cast, while yes some of your ideas are good, my main concern is why Rule 63 most of the established characters. We don't need to make characters like Ultra Magnus, Shockwave, Jazz and etc.) female for the sake of having female voice actresses. when a lot of fembots currently exist and instead we should focus on adding them into the main cast.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Category:Female_Transformers

some of the actresses you chose like Patricia Drake, Maryke Hendrikse and Kathleen Barr have portrayed some fembots in the past.

Though I must admit Cathy Weseluck as Bumblebee isn't too terribly bad, hell i like it. In Rescue Bots when they recorded lines, before the replaced all of Bumblebee's dialogue with bleeps and bloops he was voiced by Nicole Dubuc (one of the show writers). If Bumblebee is really young, I can see Cathy being awesome in a role like that.

My point is that a good chunk of the female choices for the character do not really fit, and i suggest familiarizing yourself with fembots, come back and i like to see what you can pull off.

A couple months ago, someone on BTVA proposed a question: Who would be the best new voice for Unicron?

I suggested Maurice La Marche because he can easily imitate Orson Welles.

Apart from Unicron, here's the rest of my dream cast:
Optimus Prime - Peter Cullen (ain't no other)
Megatron - Mark Hamill
Starscream - James Arnold Taylor
Bumblebee - Phil LaMarr

But if I had to make a suggestion, now I'd really like to hear Troy Baker as Starscream. He did a great Kickback voice, and now we know what he's like as the Joker. If there's anyone I think would suit the next reimagining of our favorite Con, I believe it's him.

This is a tough choice indeed. After all, Peter Cullen is more than just the voice actor for Optimus Prime: he also created the essence, embodiment, and soul of the character. Such idiosyncrasies would be hard and near impossible to replicate, let alone replace.

But I've always had something on my mind, and it may be a bit out of context, but I have to get it off my chest.

There's one aspect of Transformers in general that we seldom ever see that should be looked into: Orion Pax. Or rather, Prime's past alter ego. We saw very little of him (a flashback episode) in G1, and we've only heard about him in the past in TFP. What I want to see in a later rendition TF show or even a movie where Orion Pax is the main focus, or at least has takes up most of the screen time. I want to see his life up to the point of when he becomes Prime. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN. And if it does, I think he should be played by a total newcomer, or at least an experienced VA with very little work done in the past.

If that ever does happens, my money's already on the table.

I had a similar hypothetical idea, but with the series focusing on Orion Pax becoming an "unofficial" Prime during the first season, without the Matrix of Leadership, and being forced to become "Optimus Prime" by earning the trust of his Autobots; before truly becoming Optimus Prime at the end of its second season.

As for who I would cast... Brian Bloom. Not as deep-toned as Peter Cullen but, for this idea of Orion Pax evolving into Optimus Prime in a series, he would work REALLY WELL; especially as his Captain America voice shows that he can portray a strong-willed soldier and leader, both of which Orion/Optimus has been at different points in his life.

If we are talking next voices for Optimus I have a few in mind that would be worth considering.

Jon Bailey easily could take up the mantel of the next voice for Optimus Prime, I think his voice is on the right level of Peter Cullen's and is almost uncanny how both can sound similar at times, I imagine he would add a little more personality to Optimus's voice as well as give him so much of what we love about the character.

Neil Kaplan is also another candidate, although RID was a hit and miss series of Transformers and kind of started the downward spiral of import products for 6 year running I will defend RID simply because Kaplan's take on Optimus puts you in mind of a young Peter Cullen. Roughly 10 years young sounding Peter, I think he should have been considered for some of the current titles in the series were it not for Peter.

Last choice would probably seem like a weird one but it would work if the character of Optimus Prime were a little different, David Hayter. For a while I kept thinking Hayter would make a rather good Prime because his voice with that rough and low pitch at times could work for Prime when delivering a memorable line with so much believable conviction to the character. Plus if Optimus was more of an arrogant & brash leader to start off with then that character would be right for Hayter.

I just started toying with the idea of Tim Curry as Starscream; mostly I'd like to see how he'd handle a lackey role as opposed to the main villain types he usually plays. In terms of voice, I'm picturing something along the lines of how he did Pennywise.

However, he'd probably end up stealing the show right from whoever's playing Megatron :P

With Tim Curry as Starscream, he would definitely not just be some "lackey" character. (Granted, Starscream's rarely been a "lackey"-character). Tim as Starscream would steal the show in so many ways.

True, he could play the part well. However, in my mind he just seems too expected to play that kind of character, which is why I found the prospect of him playing Starscream to be more intriguing; Curry's no stranger to villains, but this kind of villain is another story.

There's a couple people I feel may be able to do it.

Troy Baker I feel could pull it off, I feel if he took the voice of Kickback from Fall for Cybertron and the speech pattern of his Whirlwind Avengers EMH it could work really well.

James Arnold Taylor if he did something like his (I can't belive I'm saying this) Dr. Si Nustrix from Foodfight if he made it more serious.

and Dee Bradley Baker, if he did a more goofy portrayal, I'd say something like his Doc Ock in Lego Marvel Superheroes, and if it was a more serious portrayal I'd say his Kaynar from Thundercats

I'd gotten Transformers: The Covenant of Primus with some money I'd gotten on my birthday, which details a lot of the early history of the Aligned Universe and the original 13 Transformers within that universe. So, with a little bit of help, I deicded to "cast" them. Given Prime is in the Aligned continuity, I didn't have to worry for Alpha Trion. I'm aware the first two would likely never happen outside of a big movie, but what the heck? Still, getting to them...

Prima: Patrick Stewart
Vector Prime: John Hurt
Alpha Trion: George Takei
Solus Prime: Susan Blu
Micronus Prime: John deLanice
Alchemist Prime: Kesley Grammer
Nexus Prime: Fred Tatasciore
Onxy Prime: Michael Dorn
Amalgamous Prime: Brent Spiner
Quintus Prime: Robert Englund
Liege Maximo: Jonathan Adams
Megatronus/The Fallen: Tony Todd
The 13th: That'd be a spoiler, but I will give a hint: this character was reincarnated into a character we see in Prime.

Ditto Guys.

Not only that but they could also do so much voice experimentation with voice casts recording in so many different areas aside from LA like in Vancouver, Texas, New York....and dare I say Toronto and Calgary?

The sooner Hasbro makes DTV Transformers movies the better.

Oh I definitely understand where you guys are coming from but oddly enough they are being a bit more active than usual when it comes to Transformers shows. After all until recently there were two Transformers shows on the air where traditionally it was always one at a time. But yes I do agree that it would be nice if Hasbro could make some nice Transformers DTV movies in the future.

I'd like to hear Michael McConnohie in a Transformers series again. He was Tracks and Cosmos in G1 and then many years later he was Hot Shot and Ironhide in RID. He pretty much does anime now so I don't know if he can or will do something for regular American toons, but I'd like him to. That statement goes for more than just Transformers.

I feel that although people really are quite dead set on Cullen & Welker for Prime and Megatron I feel like other people need to be given chances for roles of those two characters.

If anything I would love to see David Hayter play a young, brash and somewhat arrogant and reckless Orion Pax and then as the series would progress have Optimus Prime reprised by Neil Kaplan.

Also for Megatron I want to hear the role go to someone like Tom Wyner, I've wanted to hear him as Megatron for a while because his villainous vocal quality make him stand out like he did for Bison in the Street Fighter Anime so I really think he would be a great Megatron.

Completely understandable. But the main reason why I think (at least when it came to me) they're the most chosen is that they've established themselves among an achievement made by few actors such as Mark Hamill with the Joker and Nolan North with Deadpool: they perform so well that you can't picture anyone else BUT them in the role.

I would debate that it could still apply to me when it comes to dreamcasts and typecasting them, but after a bit of thinking, I have to agree: specifically because of Transformers Prime. Cullen's and Welker's performances from that show were the best I've ever heard from them for both those roles (the Predacons Rising movie being the absolute pinnacle for them), and I honestly think it would be near impossible for them to top the roles after that. Because of that, I wouldn't mind hearing others in the role.

If I had to choose for those two, bear with me, since they are both celebrity actors.

Liam Neeson as Optimus Prime and Benedict Cumberbatch as Megatron.

A bit on VA block but you dis just inspire my FUNmation cast, like Sean Schemmel as Optimus and Dameon Clarke, I think Chris Sabat for FUNimation or Brian Drummond for Ocean would work, using their Vegeta voices obviously. Pat Fraley , Neil Ross9something like Green Goblin)or Steve Kramer(if he's still doing work, use his Darkonda from Power Rangers), aqnd Troy Baker or Mark Hamill, if you're into Starscream being a bit Joker-esque.

Funnily enough I was thinking something like that a while back, Funimation have yet to get a hold of the Transformers series and dub it for themselves. Greg Ayres would be a rather nice addition to the cast, but not as Starscream.

If anything Chris Ayres would make a great Starscream, if you watch Gantz and hear his performance as Hajime Muroto the way he performs him is so much like Starscream from the way he performs.

I wouldn't really consider casting Kevin as Optimus to be "typecasting", though. Sure, both Batman and Optimus are "good guys", but that's about as far as their similarities go. Majority of Kevin's roles are Batman-related, but Batman's a completely different character than Optimus, so providing Kevin changes up his performance for Optimus so that it's not like Batman, I'm all good.

Actually, I meant that more along the lines of what yo said earlier... that people would probably just hear Batman even though it's not Batman on the screen. Since his Batman voice is so famous, casting likely wouldn't even consider him for the role of Optimus (unless he can do an extremely good job at manipulating his voice to something new) ... a.k.a. typecasting.

I just thought of something? considering how fembots are a major subject matter in the online community at the moment. Some characters that are male could possibly get away with having a female VA.

Soundwave is one character that comes to mind that could work well with a female VA.

I was thinking of either Cree Summer, Cristina Vee or Tabitha St. Germain could work really well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WVcyfWahHg

For Cree Summer I was thinking of her doing Soundwave like how she did Executor Salandis from StarCraft 2 voice with a different type of filtration could work for Soundwave.

With Cristina Vee, I imagine her doing either Mu-12 or Lambda-11 voice from the BlazBlue series but pitched down a bit deeper.

And Lastly Tabitha St. Germain as Soundwave, all you would need her to do is a less monstrous and more robotic version of her Technovore from Iron Man AA.

Your Thoughts?

In this regard, I prefer Cree Summer as the voice of Soundwave. But my choice for the male voice of Soundwave from "The Transformers Franchise" is Denis Leary, who voiced Diego in The Reputable "Ice Age" Franchise.

Autovolt, how about Denis Leary as the male voice of Soundwave from "The Transformers Franchise"?

I've said this before in an earlier forum (don't remember which one), and I still stand by my statement: Orion Pax, assuming/hoping he'll get a role in a TF film/show soon, needs to be played by a total newcomer. Somebody young; somebody more inexperienced; yet still somebody with a shred of power or such. I think it would do the best justice for the character.

Hmm. A relative newcomer, but also someone with some Transformers experience...

I've always intended to do a Funimation version of Cybertron.

It's not bad, in fact a lot of the casting works however I would have had Jason Douglas do Megatron instead (in his King Cold voice). Christopher Sabat would fit Scourge so much more.

Brandon Potter I think would fit Red Alert more than Landmine.

Monica Rial as Lori could work but I've had Felecia Angelle more in mind for her.

J. Michael Tatum as Franklin doesn't really work IMO.

That being said these are the castings I really like.

Why might they find it difficult? He's been replaced before. They'd either cast a Funimation VA to voice Optimus or they'd go the extra mile to fly Peter out there or have him record from where he is. Two options, with the former being most likely.

I'm not sure about having Jason Douglas (in his King Cold voice) as Megatron since it would be a bit too deep for him. I find Christopher Sabat to be the best choice for Megatron considering that he's a counterpart to David Kaye (both Sabat and Kaye have voiced DBZ's Recoom and GITS's Batou) and the fact that in your LA anime cast version of Cybertron, you casted Jamieson Price (who is California's counterpart to Christopher Sabat) for Megatron. As for Red Alert, I picked Jason Douglas since both him and Brian Dobson are similar-sounding; Brandon Potter sounds more like Steve Blum.

J. Michael Tatum as Franklin doesn't really work IMO.

Then what FUNi VA could work for Franklin?

I will explain to you:

Garry Chalk and Mark Hildreth are well-known voice actors from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada). Roger Craig Smith and Jeff Bennett are well-known voice actors based in Los Angeles (California, USA). Voice actor Harlan Rector is based in St. Louis (Missouri, USA), while voice actor Sean Lee is based in New York City (New York, USA). Michael Trucco voiced Adam Strange in ''Young Justice'' (2010) and Thomas Haden Church voiced Killer Moth in ''Teen Titans'' (2003). Celebrities in the dream cast include Joseph D. Reitman (an actor, film producer, film director, and writer), Mike Hagerty (Mr. Treeger, Friends), Pierce Brosnan (James Bond, GoldenEye), Matthew Rhys (Kevin Walker, Brothers & Sisters), Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto, The Sopranos) and Guillermo Dνaz (Huck, Scandal). Other dream cast members include Paul Lieber, an American stage, television, and film actor who is executive producer and host of ''Why Poetry?'', a radio show airing on KPFK 90.7 FM Los Angeles.

So will you listen to their voices and comment this dream cast?
