I swear he looks exactly like Broly in some of these pictures.

When it comes to Engliah VAs, you really couldn't ask for a more perfect choice than Patrick Seitz. The accent they got him to use in the AX trailer is amazing.

@Fulgore2005 IMO casting should be relatively close to the Japanese, & Patrick is not near the same ballpark as Koyasu, who is closer to someone like Will Friedle in the timber of his voice.

Like if...Antony Del Rio is a 0, & Tony Todd is a 10...Koyasu is a like, a 3, whereas Patrick is like a 7.5.

I also would've preferred anything other than JYB as Jonathan (no, name does not matter lol). His accent wasn't great, & he sounds really light for a character like Jonathan.

Seriously, I would've preferred Patrick as Jonathan & JYB as Dio.

I hope that they get to rehaul this dub eventually.

@huzaifa_ahmed Are... are you not hearing the same Takehito Koyasu as me? Like I know it's probably not his speaking voice and mostly in his nose, but Koyasu gets pretty friggin' deep as Dio. Patrick isn't far off from that at all.

And respectfully... I think JYB as Dio would be a much greater miscast then JYB as Jonathan. Bosch simply does not have the boom Dio needs

Patrick can get extremely low, lower than people like Akio Otsuka (listen to Garon from Fire Emblem) & Dio has mostly been voiced by tenors in Japanese (yes Norio Wakamoto is a tenor), though I do apologize for the terrible casting reversal.

In Japanese, the current casting has Dio just a bit heavier than Jonathan, whereas this dub has VAs at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Evil Needs a Saviour. Goddamn Dio Brando. He's probably the most despicable villain in anime history and rivals the likes of Naraku from Inuyasha and Griffith from Berserk in his actions.

Takehito Koyasu is by far the greatest Dio ever. He owns, relishes and savours every line of dialogue he's given. He makes Dio the best villain to love to hate.

That being said Patrick Seitz is actually a great casting choice for Dio, though honestly I wished he would have used a british accent since Dio was born in the Victorian England era even after a hundred years he should still have it.

Another option for who I'd like to have seen voice him would have been David Kaye alas that will never happen but one can still dream can't he?

@Autovolt How about Paul Dobson (if the series ever got dubbed in Vancouver), since he actually is British.

@Domayv That actually would work really well despite how typecast it'd be since he voiced Naraku.

Patrick Seitz is doing a British accent for Dio....It's perfect.

Now I hope he just lets loose and hams it up as much as possible.
