 1 Shout Out!
Maxey's voice has grown on me... I heard her first in Soul Eater as Crona, and when I watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, I instantly recognized her voice, and was so happy. I am now watching Fullmetal Alchemist (not Brotherhood), and right now, I can hardly get used to Al's voice. I do know that Maxey takes over. In my opinion, Maxey delivers her lines with the utmost passion, and while I do like Aaron's voice, he just isn't as fervent as she is.

I honestly don't believe Maxey was the best replacement for Aaron. She never pulled of that innocent boy voice, she always sounded like a whining teenage girl in her line delivery as Al. I don't want to be harsh, but she was one of the worst people they could have picked for Al. Al was my favorite character in the original, and in Brotherhood I resented every scene Al was in because I had to hear a voice which didn't suit him in the slightest. After a while I was less annoyed by it and gave in, just wanting to enjoy the show, but it was just a disappointment to me.

@USO Squad I agree. Maxey is the perfect voice for Crona in Soul Eater, who's a lot more of a bizzarre character than Al. So when Al yells in Brotherhood, I can only picture Crona getting beat up and complaining. Maxey just does better as comedic boy characters.

I don't remember shouting out that comment, and I don't know why I would. I personally like them both, but if I were to pick, it'd be Aaron.

@GothamRed I personally don't care if a character is voiced by a man or woman, as long as the voice matches the character. Maxey and Aaron both did a great job. However, if I was asked to choose a favorite, I would have to choose Aaron only because he was the original voice actor and his voice grew on me. It was easy for me to spot when Maxey took over, and because I am never a fan of voice changes, I'll always like Aaron's Al more. But I do realize that Maxey is an amazing voice actor and she was definitely the best replacement for Aaron.

@justshootmenow so the fact that Maxey is a legitimately better actors means nothing to you? Just the actor's gender? Got it.

@Justshootmenow, you do know the orignal voice of Al in Japan was a girl, right?
