Easily Trina Nishmura's best role.

From the looks of the trailer shown months ago, I actually like Trina's voice as Mikasa more than the original Japanese seiyuu. The dubbed version of the teenage Mikasa definitely sounded more mature in my opinion.

@spider-batmanx12 I couldn't agree more.

Hmm... Laura would sound great, but she pretty much doesn't even work for FUNi anymore. Alexis sounds too pure and innocent. As much as I hate to admit it, Brina Palencia would do great.

@FreeFanboy I disagree with Brina, she's overrated and has had too many leads in the past few years, and recently has been going downhill in quality. Seriously, in her role as Yuno, she sounded like she wasn't even trying to sound 14, or like a human. I would like to see Trina Nishimura playing her instead, she's underrated and hasn't had a lead in a long time from what I recall.

@Girlygeek43 I figured someone would retaliate with that. Unfortunately, I have to disagree; just because a voice actor is "overrrated" doesn't mean they are a bad choice. Her voice as Yuno wasn't her fault, it was the voice direction. Think of it like Todd Haberkorn. Is he overrated? Yes. Do I like him? No. Does he have a great voice? Definitely. Brina is SEVERELY overrated, but the girl has a freakin' VOICE. She can pull of Mikasa. Trina might if she can pull off being emotionless and "pure".

@FreeFanboy I really admire Brina's work and I'd say she deserves her acclaim, but I would personally cast her as Armin. Her Ciel Phantomhive voice (if you took away the accent) is around the same pitch as Armin's Japanese actress, and it would be a great change of pace for Brina. She's done several "soft-spoken girl" types and it would sound a bit indistinct. But hey, if she was cast as Mikasa, I'm totally confident in her ability to play a character like her, so I wouldn't have much to complain about.

If Trina was cast as Mikasa, all she would need to do is lower her pitch and give a bit more of an emotionally reserved performance. On top of that, her work as Mari from Evangelion proves that she can pull of some downright chilling screams, which shows that she could NAIL scenes where Mikasa snaps.

IMO, it would be a great, interesting change of pace for both involved and it would make for memorable performances.

@FreeFanboy Oh yeah, trust me when I say Trina can really pull off a character like Mikasa. However PsychicVoiceSpy, I would prefer Maxey Whitehead as Armin, just do the Sealand voice without the accent, FYI Brina can't do a boy without sounding like Ciel from what I recall. Nearly every time she voices a guy older than 13 she goes back to Ciel's voice.

@Girlygeek43 I respect your opinion, but I have seen numerous people say they wanted Maxey Whitehead for Armin, but her boy voice just isn't low enough for me. For the first few episodes it would okay, but after their several years of training it would be too high. Brina is in my eyes more capable of a lower, more suiting voice for Armin. I just don't picture him sounding as high as Maxey's boy voice after they've matured over the course of several years in the opening of the story.

And aside from that, while Brina may sound like Ciel a lot when she voices young teenaged males (I haven't watched a lot of anime in the last few years, so can't give you a very well educated response on this), Maxy Whitehead always just sounds like her Alphonse (which I never found very convincing to begin with) or Crona voice to me every time she voices a boy, give or take an accent.

If Maxey did voice Armin she could do a decent job, but I think her voice is generally too high-pitched. I respect your opinion on this matter, but that casting choice doesn't quite work for me.
