I love Tara Strong, but I couldn't bring myself to noit vpte for Ellen McLain. I'm glad she won, sorry Tara.

How the hell did Cave Johnson not win?!?!

@Dragonheart91 Because more people voted for Mark Hamill...

Aww, Ellen beat out Tara again. Oh, well. They're both talented.

I'm surprise Marvel vs Capcom didn't win considering all the bias in VCs. I am glad Portal won :D
said at 7:35 PM on Tue Apr 3 2012
No surprises here. Well deserved wins for all.
said at 7:17 PM on Tue Apr 3 2012
I'm not really impressed with the winners but that's just how it is in the end.

No surprise there. Well deserved.

HA! Way to go Hamill and McLain! They definitely deserve both of their wins.

said at 10:30 AM on Tue Apr 3 2012
Well, I'm not surprised at all by the winners.
said at 9:45 AM on Tue Apr 3 2012
Even though I really like the other representatives just as much, if not more, I had a feeling that the Arkham City and Portal 2 nominees would come out on top regardless.
said at 5:22 AM on Tue Apr 3 2012
Mark's Hamill's Joker is both Official Winner and People's Choice?! Well, it shouldn't be that surprising. But it must be a huge honor to have both distinctions.
said at 4:19 AM on Sun Apr 1 2012
Say, how come this is the only category that doesn't have supporting role nominees?
said at 4:20 AM on Sun Apr 1 2012
@ConfusedPhantom Well besides Special/DVD.
said at 4:21 AM on Sun Apr 1 2012
@ConfusedPhantom ....ok, make that three, counting Feature Films. But, still, the question remains the same. o.o
NCZ (Admin)
said at 10:03 AM on Sun Apr 1 2012
@ConfusedPhantom Basically, it's tougher to define supporting for movies, games, and specials. In a TV show, a "supporting" character is usually a recurring character. We are considering adding new categories for the next awards, particularly having supporting roles for every medium.
said at 9:49 PM on Fri Mar 30 2012
The levels here are so amazing, having to choose one is unfair
said at 10:28 PM on Wed Mar 28 2012
Batman, Portal, UMvC3... I hate being so decisive!
said at 5:52 PM on Sun Mar 25 2012
Batman sweeps. Uncharted 3 and Portal can fight for 2nd.
said at 4:07 PM on Sun Mar 25 2012
Arkham City. Nuff said!
said at 3:33 PM on Sun Mar 25 2012
Arkham City has the best voices!!!
said at 3:47 PM on Fri Mar 23 2012
Definitely Roger Craig Smith as Sonic the Hedgehog! :)
said at 1:53 AM on Thu Mar 22 2012
While Hamill was good as usual, I feel Corey Burton as Hugo Strange really deserved it. He really nailed the character, and this was a strong, first interpretation of him.
said at 1:33 AM on Thu Mar 22 2012
Much as I love Nolan, Hamill easily got my vote in the male vocal performance category.
Pgirts (AYVO S1 Winner / Master Of Memes)
said at 7:49 PM on Wed Mar 21 2012
Hamill all the way.
said at 6:55 PM on Wed Mar 21 2012
Mark Hamill as The Joker is always win in my book.
said at 3:25 AM on Wed Mar 21 2012
nolan north!

And Catherine's voice is just too cliche!
NCZ (Admin)
said at 10:38 AM on Wed Mar 21 2012
@INVADER-GRIM Remember that it's not just about the voice, but the acting.
said at 2:16 AM on Wed Mar 21 2012
Even though I love Grey Delisle, I think her Catwoman fell pretty flat.
said at 2:13 AM on Wed Mar 21 2012
Oh, god, I can't choose any of these! It's so tied!
said at 10:25 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
There's better video games than these for voices
NCZ (Admin)
said at 11:10 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
@Jedimom In 2011? Can you name some? These are pretty much the cream of the crop in my opinion.
OptimusSolo (Admin)
said at 12:02 AM on Wed Mar 21 2012
@Jedimom We had more then five that we considered but when it came down to it these were what we determined as the best choices. I am interested to see which games you think got slighted. If you were thinking Old Republic that was really a case of it coming out so late in 2011 that we didn't really have enough time to critique it.
said at 1:38 PM on Sat Mar 31 2012
@Jedimom Those really are most of the best games of 2011 (voice-wise at least).
said at 8:18 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
The best vocal cast is between Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.I'm going to have to go with Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy's voice cast even tho I find Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to be a better game.
said at 8:18 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
I'm surprised that none of the LA Noire voice cast made it here.
OptimusSolo (Admin)
said at 9:13 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
@Torch621 We definitely talked about it a lot
said at 7:40 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Ellen McLain's performance as GLaDOS is one of the out-right reasons why that series is so successful. Tara and Grey were great, don't get me wrong, but I think Ellen gives the strongest performance.
said at 7:16 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
I can't choose! Tara Strong has done an amazing job with Harley but GLaDOS is legendary! owww sorry Tara, it's not personal
said at 7:02 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Cave Johnson
Austin Yun
said at 6:38 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Hm. I considered voting for GLaDOS, but as far as acting goes, I don't think it compares to Harley Quinn. GLaDOS is an iconic voice, but the actual acting involved is very flat for the most part, with vocal effects added over.

Now, SHODAN from System Shock 2, now there's a crazy female AI I could vote for.
Dagda Mor
said at 6:25 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Cave Johnson did a damn fine job, but I had to give my vote to the Joker. Just can't beat classic mark Hamill.
said at 5:36 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Definitely giving my vote to Nolan North, he's quite the veteran voice actor.
The fact that they record the voice work along with tho motion capture for Uncharted makes it even more impressive, and all of them are amazing actors.
said at 5:21 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Dissidia 012 in the best vocal cast? That doesn't even give the other options a fair chance. It's like putting Video Game Voice Actors: The Best Hits up for nomination.
said at 5:04 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
NOOOO! I wanted to vote for Ellen McLain, but my mouse slipped and I voted for Tara Strong! (I love Tara Strong's voice, but I liked GLaDOS's voice better than Harley's.)
said at 5:07 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
@Dogman15: And also, it would have been nice to see Stephen Merchant and Wheatley on here.
said at 4:46 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Hahaha I voted for Portal 2 for best cast, even though it's gotta be the smallest voice cast of all. Only thing it didn't get my vote for was male actor, for which they had good ol' mark Hamill. Had they had Steven Merchant up there though, it might have been a different story. How does Cave Johnson get a nomination and not Wheatley?
OptimusSolo (Admin)
said at 5:08 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
@Krudge Merchant was definitely talked about and voted on in the nomination process. I personally, think he is more deserving then one of the nominees chosen but just wanted you to know he was considered!
said at 3:35 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Uncharted is the clear winner here, apart from Tara as Harley
said at 11:52 AM on Tue Mar 20 2012
I'm a big fan of Tara's work, but Ellen's GLaDOS is just too brilliant not to vote for her. Downright terrifying, while still being calm and cool.
said at 2:46 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
@EPHorizon I couldn't agree more. Portal 2 STOLE all my votes. Between Cave Johnson and GlaDOS, nothing else could even compare. I LOVE Tara Strong's voice acting, and I LOVE her character Twilight Sparkle, but I'm not voting for Twilight in this category.

I'm voting for PORTAL 2 in this category! LOL!!!
said at 8:45 AM on Tue Mar 20 2012
Was hoping to see Kevin nominated. His performance in AC is one of his all time best.
said at 6:46 AM on Tue Mar 20 2012
It's beyond me how Roger Craig Smith got nominated. I personally hated his performance, but I guess it's not my call to make. Mark Hamill was a no-brainer for me in that area. Now, for female, it was a toss up between Tara Strong and Laura Bailey. I personally loved both performances, but Tara Strong just sold me with Harley.

Arkham City had an excellent voice cast, so if my previous votes were any indication, I voted for that. Go Batman! xD
said at 5:00 AM on Tue Mar 20 2012
woot, mark Hamil is the joker...Laaawl, he did a super sweet job on that one .D
said at 2:33 AM on Tue Mar 20 2012
It was so hard to pick between Laura and Tara being they're my two favorite female voices.
said at 9:42 PM on Mon Mar 19 2012
I love AllĂ Hillis' voice as Lightning! ^^
Serrated Viper
said at 1:55 PM on Mon Mar 19 2012
Submitted My Vote for Lightning and Nate. Now as far as Mark is concerned to me, he is no voice actor he has only done 1 voice and acted in a saga of films he shouldnt be in a poll like this. I love Mark i really do but again i personally dont agree with him being in voting polls such as this.
OptimusSolo (Admin)
said at 1:58 PM on Mon Mar 19 2012
@Serrated Viper Hmm, maybe you should visit his page - he has over 85 credited roles that we have added so far!

Vote for Lightning!

said at 12:06 PM on Sun Mar 18 2012
I know that everyone's probably going to vote for Arkham City or Portal 2 or whatever, but I think Ali Hillis, Laura Bailey, and Nolan North really delivered some STELLAR performances.
said at 3:00 PM on Tue Mar 20 2012
@NCZ That's why I voted North as Male VA of the Year lol.
said at 12:06 AM on Sun Mar 18 2012
I did not expect to vote for a VA I haven't heard of, but Ms. McLain gave such an amazing performance as GLADOS. It gives me chills just thinking about it.

Once again, Mark Hamill shows his amazing skills as a VA! There's no question that his Joker is simply the greatest of all time.
said at 3:23 PM on Sat Mar 17 2012
Ouch it hurt voting against some of my favorite female VA's!
Music Meister (Moderator)
said at 12:25 PM on Sat Mar 17 2012
Male one is super hard but females it's rather easy, all are mostly slightly above (compared to their other roles at least) average Ellen was the only that could go bone chilling scary or sarcastically hilarious. That's talent.
said at 11:49 AM on Sat Mar 17 2012
Ugh, had to make A LOT of painful choices! There were about 4 categories where I looked a the nominees and shouted "Oh come on this is so not fair!" lol.
said at 11:53 AM on Sat Mar 17 2012

Of course that should read performances, not categories. my bad.
said at 4:13 AM on Sat Mar 17 2012
Seriously can't decide between Corey Burton and Mark Hamill. Ultimately went with Corey, though, since Strange was really the main villain of the game and I'm a bigger fan of his in general.

This is the hardest section to choose a winner in because every single one of these was unbelievably good.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 11:25 PM on Fri Mar 16 2012
@Rev897 Completely agreed!
said at 12:13 AM on Sat Mar 17 2012
@Rev897 Absolutely. @_@
said at 8:46 PM on Fri Mar 16 2012
Wait, where's Charles Martinet as Mario? Mike Pollock as Eggman? David Hayter as Solid Snake? Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher? How could none of them have been included?
NCZ (Admin)
said at 11:23 PM on Fri Mar 16 2012
@pokemastanumba1 There weren't any MGS games released in 2011 (barring the HD Collection, which didn't have any new dialogue), so Snake's excluded by default. Mario doesn't have enough actual dialogue to really be included. As for the others, we had decided that the ones we settled on were simply better performances.
said at 9:29 PM on Wed Mar 28 2012
@NCZ Eh, I guess. Anyway, it's completely ironic that Roger Craig Smith is included as Sonic instead of Chris Redfield; he does the latter role SO much better.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 7:55 PM on Thu Mar 29 2012
@pokemastanumba1 He didn't have much to work with as Chris last year. There was MVC3 and Mercenaries 3D. But compared to his work as Ezio (who was definitely considered BTW) and Sonic, Chris is probably the least impressive IMO.
said at 1:50 PM on Sat Mar 31 2012
@NCZ WHAT? First of all, there are excellent clips of his performances from both MvC3 and Merc3D that someone could've gotten from YouTube. Second, if the BTVA team had to choose between Ezio and Sonic, why was it the latter instead of the former? No offense, but like I've said, the new Sonic games aren't very good. The Assassin's Creed games, on the other hand, have always been critically-acclaimed for their engaging stories and the well-developed plotline.

Most importantly, Roger has been and will always be much more iconic as Chris Redfield.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 5:44 PM on Sat Mar 31 2012
@pokemastanumba1 Because enough team members preferred his work as Sonic. Also, I think Generations and Colours are both excellent. Even if you disagree with that, the quality of a game doesn't diminish the quality of its acting. Again, we did consider Ezio.

As for the Chris point, would you rather have his work be nominated for MVC3 or Mercenaries this year, or the more full-fledged, story-based Revelations this year? He does do a good job as Chris, but 2011 isn't the best showcase of his skills.
said at 5:32 PM on Fri Mar 16 2012
*looks at the male list* ....IT'S NOT FAIR! @_@ THEY'RE ALL GOOD!
said at 12:12 AM on Sat Mar 17 2012
@ConfusedPhantom And voted. ...I agree with Rev....this IS the hardest section @_@
