I just noticed this and I don't think anyone else here will get this, but Yuji looks a bit like Michael McIntyre who's a UK comedian

Yuji is awesome as Takeshi, Gekkouga, and Sanosuke.

@WrightWay Ueda is awesome as anyone.

That is quite true, but these are my favorite roles from him.

@WrightWay Yeah. I also find Ueda quite distinguished and handsome.

My faviourite roll is Takeshi, since he has a very beautiful and soothing voice.

Same here. I find it interesting how he can do that really smooth and intelligent sounding voice for Takeshi and then do something like the silly Sonans- Ueda has a really wide vocal range.
said at 4:10 AM on Sat Dec 31 2016
@WrightWay But I'm still sad that Takeshi hasn't been appearing much recently. :( I could listen to that voice all day.

Yeah, that's true: Takeshi got treated really badly in DP by the writers, too, but I'm glad he was handled a lot better in that Da! Special with Dento during BW.

@WrightWay Hmm, I think of it more like he learned to become more considerate of Pokémon and I really like the episode where he makes Pachirisu feel better, since he has a really nice, nurturing voice.

True. I guess it's just that I didn't like how little screen time they gave Takeshi in the Arc: I think he deserved better, although admittedly most of my problems stem from the English dub's handling of him during that Series both in voice & dialogue. Yuji, on the other hand, still made Takeshi a lovable and earnest guy during DP, regardless. :)

@WrightWay Yeah, post-4Kids, he sounds like a lame Batman. Ueda does it way better...

 1 Shout Out!
Good luck pinning a typecast on this guy

For his Capcom fighter voices, his Jin I didn't like as I prefer Toru Furuya but his Hiryu was cool, his role in Street Fighter was good too.

His Brock was perfect, NO one can beat Yuji in my mind as this guy

@HienFan 100% with the Takeshi (Brock) thing. I fell for his Takeshi voice a number of years ago and man... that guy can freaking sing!

Also, his Mr. Mei song... man... the way he sings "Oyasumi".

Faviourite Japanese VA. Very hard to find pictures and video footage of him. I managed to find some things from 2015 though!

@AntonKutovoi Yeah, I managed to find it too.

Also, it's easier to find pics and footage of him if you search in Japanese...

Happy Birthday, Yuji Ueda! He is without exaggeration a versatile force to be reckoned with. My favorite Ueda roles include Strider Hiryu, Jin Saotome, Shoot McMahon, Lord Raptor/Zabel Zarock, Blanka, Zappa, J. Talbain/Gallon, Brock/Takeshi, Shiro Iori, and Watchdog Man.

Would also like to add Greninja/Gekkouga, Shoma Sawamura, Krino Sandra, Johannes Krauser II, and Sanosuke Sagara to my list of favorite Ueda performances. Kinda forgot to mention those before. He was actually not too bad as Urien either; I mean, he's worse than both Lawrence Bayne and Fumihiko Tachiki concerning the role, but still definitely worked with what he had for 2nd Impact.

That being said, Yuji's an awesome seiyuu who just doesn't fall into any one archetype. Can't be stated enough.

 3 Shout Outs!
Like TV Tropes would state: IMPOSSIBLE to pigeonhole.

High pitched and bishounen voiced at first, then large and in charge the next. Then....something COMPLETELY different.

@Belial Edge The Tv Tropes page got changed and it says "Raspy" 3 times... I guess he has a raspy voice then?
