I found out recently that he was apparently supposed to come back for War for Cybertron as the narrator, but I guess he thought it was a film script from what I read, so he asked for more money than they could afford and he dropped out.

That explains why Blum sounded so much like Caroli.

I was pleasantly surprised to see him turn up on Bravest Warriors. Good to see him still active after all these years. His Paralyzed Horse voice actually sounds a bit like Morgan Freeman.

Too bad I can't vote for him as narrator of Transformers. But, I understand that narration isn't the same as playing a character so it's understandable why it's not an option.

In my opinion, Victor Caroli's voice is THE closest bass voice I've heard to sounding similar to Tony Jay! In fact, he said in an interview with Jon Bailey that one time when he played some character in something where he did a British accent, someone told he did a perfect Tony Jay impression!

@Jacob M. Keene Indeed. Both Jay and Caroli have very similar balanced voices.

What do I mean by balanced voices: I mean that their voices are not too deep and not too high either, and they have this delightfully smooth rasp which can they're able to alter in order to sound sinister, ominous or hypnotic.

Another performer with a balanced voice I can think of is Peter Howell, who played Saruman in the 1981 LOTR radio drama. Roscoe Lee Browne's voice could also be considered balanced.

And there are... Oh, my god, I got carried away again. I'M GETTING SENILE!!! XP

Okay, that's me and my educational talk for now. XP

@Starscreamsfan If only Peter Howell had a page on here.

@Jacob M. Keene Yeah, but alas, his only VO work was in radio programs.

Tirek, one of the best 80s villains and certainly the best villain Hasbro has brought to life, alongside Megatron.

Wish he had more roles. His voice is awesome.

@Polyester Funk I think he would've, if not for the fact that he prefers to work in his home studio in New York over traveling to California, and doing voice-overs over voice acting (which I heard him say when he was interviewed by Jon Bailey).

@Jacob M. Keene That was the reason why Tirac was his only role until he voiced the Paralyzed Horse.
