Happy Birthday Trevor Devall!

My top 10 favourite roles of his are:

1.) Scourge (Transformers: Cybertron)
2.) Iron Will (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic)
3.) Patrick Colasour (Gundam 00)
4.) Mu La Flaga (Gundam SEED)
5.) Bai Ji-Shin Chang (Black Lagoon)
6.) Leigharch (Black Lagoon)
7.) Emperor Palpatine (Lego Star Wars)
8.) Thunderlane (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic)
9.) Rocket Raccoon (Guardians of the Galaxy)
10.) Shuichi Aizawa (Death Note)

I'm happy that Trevor despite making it big in LA, still came back to MLP this season for 3 different episodes (granted 2 of them were in a row, I can imagine it was done the same week since it was more practical to do so), I'm happy he reprise his roles as Hoity Toity, Thunderlane and most importantly of all, Iron Will. I had been waiting since Season 2 for the assertive Minotaur to return to the show and it didn't disappoint.

It was also exciting hearing Trevor voice in my current favourite cartoon Voltron: Legendary Defender, voicing multiple characters including Antok, Keith's Dad (or McCree as I've nicknamed him, since he reminds me a lot of Matt Mercer's performance as the character) and the Druids.

Also shout out to Trevor's nearly spot on impression of the late Daws Butler's Elroy, that's such an amazing example of his range right there. Trevor years ago on his Voiceprint podcast, often lamented how he would never get to voice little kids, like say Brian Drummond could sometimes, and now he got to voice a little boy in something.

I also enjoyed his performances in the Eternals motion comics series, especially as Ikaris. Perfect Casting!

This guy is really underrated. It's a shame that he doesn't work in Vancouver anymore along with David Kaye and David Sobolov.

@8000 Saiyans Not all that surprising when you consider the fact that after the 2000's hardly any anime was being outsourced to Canada all that much. David Kaye & David Sobolov got successful almost immediately so it was much easier for them to break into the LA pre-lay scene. Trevor Devall stuck around for a bit longer, though even he was going back & forth between Canada & LA like David Kaye was.

Simply put, there's more opportunities when it comes to voice over in LA, and that's why those 3 have stuck with LA for several years.

I really like how he has a really good balance of LA and Vancouver work since he moved to California. It makes me happy to see that he still likes doing work in both regions since I feel when I see VA's move from one area to the next they don't really do voiceover in the other area that much (Cree Summer/Tara Strong), though that's sometimes union problems if anything.
said at 10:09 PM on Mon May 1 2017
@skeletonking1234 IIRC you can be in two unions at the same time. Some other Canada VAs that moved to LA - LaMarche, Cullen, Kaye, Sobolov, Erin Fitzgerald (though she's not so busy, so I wonder why she stopped doing Canada stuff?), Jennifer Hale, Eric Bauzilla, Neal McDonough, Michael Ironside, could go awhile..

Wasn't a fan of this guy early on (Dukey) but recently he's really started to win me over. He's got tremendous range. He's great as Pyro, Rocket Raccoon, Hot Dog, Diablo, Emperor Palpatine, & Namor.

@Shaun Ince I think the most likely place we might see this come to fruition is likely through another
Marvel Motion comic. Maybe there will be another X-men related Motion Comic that has Deadpool. And maybe he'll get a chance to voice him there? Who really knows?

Man, this guy continues to impress me. I always loved his Scourge from Cybertron, but he's blown me away ever since he moved to LA. He's been rakin' in the roles and continuing to showcase his range.

Happy Birthday Trevor Devall, Our Intrepid Host!

He's easily one of the most talented VA's around, capable of playing nearly just about everything, it's hard to pick one personal favourite role of his, but if I had to chose I'd probably go with Scourge from Transformers: Cybertron, it was a different kind of role for him, a gruff bestial yet noble villain character.

I also loved his work in the Gundam franchise especially as Mu La Flaga and Patrick Colasour. Mu being the ace and all around great guy who "makes the impossible possible" and Patrick "the Indestructible" being one the funniest characters he's ever voiced. He was also great in other roles like Howard Mason, Eddie Miyasaka and Tem Ray too.

I also loved his performances as Bai Ji-Shin Chang, Leigharch, Shuichi Aizawa, Iron Will, Fancy Pants, Hoity Toity, Marcosias, Friagne, Alpha Q, Bruticus Maximus, Pyro, Rocket Racoon, Diablo, Emperor Palpatine, Pohatu, Claw, Shako, Ryukotsusei, Mukotsu, Mr. Match, Dr. Regal and Emil Hamilton.

It's pretty awesome how quickly he was able to settle into LA, already getting work in Andrea Romano's productions that's pretty awesome, I'm also liking that he's trying to make it work working between LA and Vancouver, I hope he doesn't cut ties with Vancouver but I can understand if he does so one day.

also while I haven't heard much of Voiceprint, I did however enjoy what I've listened to thus far.

I have to say Trevor Devall definitely has made it big working in LA the past year or so.

It's impressive getting to hear him be part of cast ensembles so quickly like as Rocket Raccoon on Guardians of the Galaxy, I also really enjoy his many performances in F is for Family and him continuing to voice Emperor Palpatine in Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures.

It's also pretty awesome that he got a role in The Final Fantasy franchise as Ravus Nox Fleuret. which it was very unexpected and out of left field.

That said despite all these major roles in LA, it's nice that he still finds some time to still voice act in Vancouver and with his voice acting colleagues. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up eventually staying and working permanently in LA.

While I thought he was miscast as most of his roles in the Marvel Knights motion comics, he absolutely kills it as Nightcrawler in Wolverine: Weapon X, really making him very charming and funny. His Colossus and Namor the Sub-Mariner were also rather solid and fitting too.

I also loved his performances in Kurozuka as Kurata and the Man Clad in All Black. His performance as the weaselly Skrap-It in Dinotrux is also excellent, does a great job emulating Paul Lynde.

It's hard to believe that Trevor Devall made the move to LA around two years, it's kind of amusing since Trevor never even intended to move down here, he talks about this on one of Kirbopher's Kirblogs he did for Voiceoctover this year. Definitely get a lot of interesting insight of how he stumbled into the voice acting industry and how he ended up in LA.

Trevor was always an underrated talent, so it's great that he's finally starting to get more recognition. I've always thought he showed promise in more leading roles so I welcome whatever new roles he gets in either LA or Vancouver.

I'm hoping he gets another role in the Transformers franchise. So many great characters he'd be perfect to play as.

Happy Birthday Trevor Devall, Our Intrepid Host!

@Music Meister I did a bit of Twitter creeping, and it looks like he does fly back out to Vancouver on occassion to record with the Ocean crew, in addition to recording for Ocean projects in LA and interacting via Skype with them, too.

@Music Meister I get the feeling somewhere down the line he might do what David Kaye did and end up becoming a full time voice actor in LA. Though that could be a few years down the line until that happens. Time will tell.
