Why do so many people hate this guy?

@Joel the Pokekid

A staff member/volunteer at Anime Boston came out last year and testified that Tom Wayland raped her at the previous year's event. The police got involved as did Anime Boston and some other anime conventions. Since then Wayland has vanished from social media, not done any voicework, and has been replaced as VD on Pokemon.

Put it all together and that's why.

@FMAlchemistfan01 He was accused of an extremely serious crime early this year and since then has not done any new work, been replaced as director on Pokemon, and vanished from social media.

@dcmarvelanime I'm not an expert on that. Probably recorded before the situation got out.

@NCZ @dcmarvelanime Gundam The Origin is dubbed during production at the same time as the Japanese audio, before the animation is even completed. Though I doubt he would've been in episode 2 if this situation happened in March/April or so.

And just from watching episode 2 it seems like Mash has a different voice than he did in episode 1, which came out in February and would've been dubbed much earlier than that. He only has a couple of yelling lines in the first place, but it's enough of a difference.

@Stelman257 Ah never mind that, it was him in episode 2. Then yes, I suppose it must've been produced before the news got out.

Or hell, maybe something else has happened behind the scenes. Who knows.

@Stelman257 It was in February that the victim went public with her allegation, just about 10 days before the first episode was released. So it was probably just that it was too late to change anything.

I sure hope that the accusations on him were false.

@Jacob M. Keene Without commenting on this situation specifically, I should warn you that a big part of why many predators in the entertainment industry manage to get away with this sort of crime, or why their victims are often dismissed, is because people choose not to believe their victims solely because they like the accused's work.
