Ron Halder is definitely one of the most underrated and underapreciated VA's not only in Vancouver or just in Canada but in general.

He has one of the best distinctive old gentlemanly sounding voices. Bringing a lot of regality and class to his roles.

I think my favourite roles of his are as Primus in Transformers: Energon and Metroplex in Transformers: Cybertron. Both these massive titans in two different series. I really like how other worldy he makes Primus sound, he feels the most godly in the role fitting for the creator and planet of Cybertron and the Transformers race. His Metroplex is a nice surprise, playing a gigantic Scottish accented robot, he plays this jovial robot head foreman really well. The scottish accent is a nice touch and makes the character sound very unique and memorable instead of just some typical deep voice.

I also liked his work as Dr. Brian Jones and Padlock in Energon. I thought Halder gave some of the better performances in that trainwreck of a show and dub.

I also loved his work as Magneto in Iron Man: Armoured Adventures, I feel personally THIS is the voice Magneto should have had in X-Men Evolution. He really emulates Ian McKellan but also makes the character his own and is very threatening. He definitely needs to voice Magneto again someday. Speaking of Evolution. His performance as Mesmero was amazing. Sounding very ancient and very creepy in the role. Definitely a highlight of the voice acting from Evolution. He also voice matches Mike Pollock's Beast perfectly. I've always felt the two sounded similar so it's perfect that he took over from him. I also have to give him points for playing against type as Sabretooth, while not the most perfect fit (unlike say Mark Acheson was), it's still a fantastic performance and Ron Nails his bloodthristy personality. I'd love to hear him voice another gruff savage character at some point. I did feel he was somewhat miscast as Professor Charles Xavier that said, not so much that Ron couldn't be a great fit but it was awkward having Xavier and Magneto sounding so similar.

I also really liked his performances as Algrim, Papaya, Lamies, Shane Caxton, Elroy, Ambassador Coran, Ralph Eifman, William Sutherland, Yahoot, Gauss Magnus, MistMan.EXE, Seikai and Roger Ruvie.

Speaking of Death Note, in a weird coincidental bit of irony, in the dubs of the live-action Death Note movies made in Japan. Ron Halder dubbed over as Watari. I find that very amusing considering that Roger manages Watari's orphanage.
