Man, he really got a extended curriculum. And I like how he change his tune, to a very energetic to a very deep and ominous.

Really, you hear he yelling you immediately recognize his voice! xD

 2 Shout Outs!
I've finally figured out why I find his Link to be so much better than the others, it's because of how memorable he is. Just about every single noise he makes has been seared into my mind for years. You could play me any sound clip and I'd recognize it instantly. It's the same kind of charm I get from Charles Martinet's Mario characters. I can't for the life of me remember what Akira Sasanuma or Takashi Ohara sound like in the slightest. They just don't have that recognizable quality. Although I must say that Yuki Kaji does have a memorable voice and he's been my second favorite for some time now. Still, there's just no way he can match up to the original in my mind.

@Nightmare Crusher Exactly. You nailed it.

In addition to that, Hiyama also had the strongest sense of energy, expression, and personality in his voice. Even though he only did a few shouts without any proper dialogue, in each one you could hear Link's determination and spirit. When you hear his recordings, you truly hear Link, the silent but heroic warrior. Takashi Ohara and Akira Sasanuma, while not bad, were a lot more down to earth, and I always felt Sasanuma's shouts were more restrained compared to the others. From what I've heard in a few HW gameplay videos, I have to agree Yuki Kaji is indeed the closest to capturing Hiyama's spirit.

My personal ranking goes:

Nobuyuki Hiyama > Yuki Kaji > Takashi Ohara > Akira Sasanuma

The best Link voice, as well as a great VA for Joe, Batsu, and Gai Tendo!

Seriously, Nobuyuki Hiyama is simply amazing! His Link will always be one of Nintendo's moments for me. The current voice for our favorite Hylian (Akira Sasanuma) just doesn't have that magic that Hiyama-sama had.
