Happy Birthday, Lex Lang! My favorite roles thus far from him consist of Dr. Neo Cortex, Flashy Flash, Marechiyo Omaeda, Hayate Gekko, Dr. Doom, WarGreymon, Omnimon, Jin Long, Goemon Ishikawa XIII, Sanosuke Sagara, Kenshiro, Meito Anizawa, and Adult Gohan; speaking of the latter, I'd honestly like to see Lex have another crack at that character if given the chance. His Gohan was one of the highlights in what was (in hindsight) a pretty below-average dub.

Happy Birthday, Lex! Digimon, .hack//, MAR and Rurouni Kenshin were all big parts of childhood.

This guy does ADR for just about every Marvel movie nowadays. I saw his name in the credits for X-Men Apocalypse.
said at 10:13 PM on Sun Jul 3 2016
Ok, I guess you could just say every movie nowadays, because I saw his name in the credits for Independence Day Resurgence! (Along with quite a few other recognizable names. Kirk Thornton, Karen Strassmen, John Eric Bentley, Robin Atkin Downes, Yuri Lowenthal, Sam Riegal just to name a few.)
said at 4:30 PM on Thu Aug 18 2016
@Lpfan120 Well, yeah...Kirk, Karen, John, & Sam *mostly* just do ADR anyways.

Yuri also started out dubbing anime, which is (sadly) the lowest form of ADR (according to DBB).

So, it only makes sense that he'd maintain those connections, even though he's big in the game & cartoon world.

Seeing as he still occasionally dubs anime.

I'm very happy your gettin' more work in anime and video games, although I wouldn't mind hearin' you in some action cartoons like...Star Wars Rebels, Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble and of course Guardians of the Galaxy the Animated Series.

Happy Birthday Lex Lang!

It's great to see that he's made such a huge comeback this year, not only as a voice actor but now as a voice director too.

I think my favourite role of his would have to be his Dr. Doom, he brings a certain finesse and superiority to the role, along with having some excellent robotic effects to his voice, It's a shame he's only voiced him so far in Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Marvel Heroes, I really want to see where else he can take the character too, especially getting to work on some really meatier material and do Doom's over the top speeches.

I also loved his performances as Sanosuke Sagara, Shun Aurora, Giobanni Gallo, Bunji Kugashira, WarGreymon, Bismarck Waldstein, Egor, Shu Aozaki, Captain Cold, Metallo, Rick Flag, Gold, Dr. Polaris, The Dick Grayson Batman, Young Sozin, Tow-Line and Adult Gohan.

I do think it's amusing that he went from voicing Issei Ryudo in the original Fate/Stay Night to becoming the new voice for Soichiro Kuzuki, you can literally say the student has become the teacher in this instance.

While I haven't seen any of the dubs he's directed yet, I intend on checking them out in the near future and also it's pretty awesome he's married to Sandy Fox. It's really nice to see him return, I can't wait to see what else has in store for us next.

His performance as Soichiro Kuzuki in Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works was rather fitting if I say so myself. Lang plays up the dryness of the character perfectly which is great since Kuzuki is probably one of the most uninteresting Fate characters in the franchise IMO. I think Lex managed to add a lot to the role and he was definitely more fitting as Kuzuki than as Issei who he voiced in the original Deen Fate/Stay Night anime dub.

I also really liked him as Flashy Flash in One Punch Man's dub.

I thought casting Lex Lang as Maxie in Pokemon Generations was....interesting to say the least, I don't think I would have considered him for Maxie, personally I saw him as a voice more fitting for Archer, Lysandre or Cyrus instead that said, it was neat having him act alongside his wife Sandy Fox as Courtney.

It's pretty awesome that he's also returning as Goemon Ishikawa XIII for the upcoming Lupin the 3rd anime dub.

Happy Birthday Lex Lang!

@BioZero216 What's ficore?
said at 4:29 PM on Tue Sep 15 2015
@Jared Delgado It means he acts in both union and non-union projects. Most anime dubs are non-union.
said at 8:36 PM on Tue Sep 15 2015
@BioZero216 Why are most anime non-union?
said at 12:42 AM on Wed Sep 16 2015
@BioZero216 he has actually been ficore for a long time, since he appeared in union productions like Robots in Disguise 2001 and nonunion works like Tenjho Tenge and Mahoromatic both of which were in the early-mid 2000s. its just that he hasn't been seen in dubs for a while after Geneon closed until the mid 2010s.
said at 12:51 AM on Wed Sep 16 2015
@dcmarvelanime largely because of all the stuff like paperwork to be signed in order to use the union only VAs, which is rather a big hassle for the anime companies (its not actually the cost since the cost difference between union and nonunion dubs in LA are too small to matter. Texas, on the other hand has become the anime dubbing place since its cheaper than LA due to the reduced union influence plus thats where Funi and Sentai are at but it doesnt have any other voiceover opportunities (i.e prelay animation and non-ADR video games) (which is a problem due to how low anime dubs pay) outside of anime save for the Gearbox Software and Twisted Pixel games)

@Domayv Ah.
said at 5:50 AM on Wed Sep 16 2015
@dcmarvelanime That I don't know. I'm guessing because the dubbing companies don't have enough money for it.
said at 5:51 AM on Wed Sep 16 2015
@BioZero216 Oh, actually, it's what Domayv said. A lot of paperwork.
said at 10:23 AM on Thu Jan 7 2016
@Domayv I think another reason why he wasn't in so many anime dubs from 2009-14, is that beside Geneon and Bandai closing it's doors in the USA, Lex and his wife, Sandy Fox also have been working as humanitarians through their non-profit organization "Love Planet Foundation". Even though they've been doing this since 1998.

@Archerboy58 Actually, according to Whedon on the commentary, that line/actor was Jeff Ford, one of the editors of the film.

@Archerboy58 What's the source on him claiming that he was the one?

Perhaps he did do some ADR in that scene, but was replaced? The ADR was ADR'd. :D

I wonder what's going on. If Jeff Ford is an editor he probably wasn't the physical actor. I haven't seen that part since the movie was new, but I would probably er on it being Lex's voice in the final movie.
