Joshua Seth

Birth Place: Kent, Ohio, United States
Date Of Birth: Dec 12, 1970
Voice Over Language: English

Trivia & Fun Facts:

Fave Comedian: Chris Rock

Good friends with Steve Blum and Wendee Lee.

Michael Sorich is also a good friend of his. He was the one that got him into doing prominent voice work in Digimon and Cyborg 009.

Was going to quit doing voice work in anime dubs back in 2001 for two reasons:
1. He is starting to like North American animation more.
2. Hates how the VA union system is in California when it comes to anime.

He got back into doing voice work in anime when Derek Stephen Prince was fired from Cyborg 009 when Sony thought he made his character "too wimpy".

Considers Hige of Wolf's Rain to be the most "kindred" character he ever played.

Likes the fact that they re-animated the mouth movements for him in Duel Masters. However he hated the fact that in the upcoming new season of Duel Masters they'll be recasting the whole show in a different part of California. (That is way too far for him to drive there.)

Is a firm believer that Anime Companies should spend MORE money on their voice talent. Hates the fact that they're constantly going for the cheaper route and says it could be a terrible strain in the Anime Industry in the US. Also dislikes the fact that he got more money from doing a small part in the Spongebob Squarepants movie than ALL of Digimon put together.

Even though Johnny Yong Bosch was deemed as "Guest of Honor" at the OtakuCon of 2004 he left earlier than the others and Josh's joke response was that he took all his money during Poker.

Good to see Josh do something Digimon related again even if its fan made.
He also admits if he is asked then he will return to do Tai again in Digimon Fusion, only if he's asked though.

Happy late birthday, Joshua. I've found your performance as Tetsuo quite fascinating and compelling since my first time hearing it, and I hope there's a chance you may re-enter the acting business sometime in the future.

@PsychicVoiceSpy Both Wikipedia and Anime News Network list his birthday as December 2nd. Hm...

Happy Late Birthday Josh. You were fantastic as Taichi, Tetsuo, Jiang Wei, Dio Eraclea and Hige.

Joshua did a good job voicing Dio in Last Exile. The character went from being rotten, to kind of likable, to tragic during the 26 episode series.

After reading his info, sounds like this guy was only in it for the money.

@RNB Bit rude of a statement, isn't it? Whatever the case, you can't blame him. If you're a voice actor, constant work isn't always guaranteed, so it's understandable that he'd want to have enough to make a living and then some or be a bit disgruntled by low-paying employers or lack of residuals. This especially applies to anime, particularly non-union dubbing, which many VAs have stated does not pay very well. Whatever the case, you can tell in interviews that Josh is proud of his voice acting work and had fun while it lasted, so to make a judgemental statement like that is very rude.

@NCZ Pretty much this. From what I've heard from him in interviews and such, he has a son who's only a few years old. He may be a touring hypnotist/mentalist entertainer at the moment, but there's a chance that he'll eventually settle down back in California so he can be with his son more often as he gets older.

If that happens he may consider doing more voice work, which would be awesome.

@NCZ It's also rude to jump on one's case like that.

@NCZ And i can take being banned again. So **** you.

@RNB That is incredibly rude.

@PsychicVoiceSpy Well he needs to learn respect. The four letter word is blocked, but i have a pretty good idea of what he said.

RNB sounds like an idiot. If he had made the rude statement that got him banned (again) at the exact moment he got on to NCZ for getting on to his case, it would have been understandable (sort of since he's a hot head) but the fact that it's days later getting on to NCZ makes him sound stupid. Well no offence to him but it kinda does.

@Ross123 Well I agree with what NCZ said in the first place. I know Joshua Seth is not just in it for the money. And yes it does make him sound unintelligent to drop a four letter word after he told NCZ to get of his case.

@Ross123 I'm surprised you are in this page considering this actor mainly voice Japanese work(I think Spongebob Movie is the only America work he done)

Happy birthday, Joshua Seth.

He definitely was memorable for his roles in Digimon.

I thought his Tetsuo was fantastic. One of the reasons why I preferred the newer dub of Akira.

The voice over world would benefit greatly if Joshua Seth returned to voice acting even for just a few roles..I wonder if he misses voice acting.

@SmartyBoyboy Huh, he probably would be pretty good, actually. I would have loved to hear him in a Final Fantasy or Tales of title.
