HBD, Nakata. Much like Wakamoto, he's very similar to Ron Perlman or Clancy Brown with a great presence & villainous depth, plus an awesome imposing gravelly voice. From what I've heard of him, I love:

Alucard
Kirei
Albert Wesker
Kazuya Mishima
Sol Badguy
Megatron
Lex Luthor (perfect casting!)
Giroro
Luxord
Jack Cayman
Diethard Ried
Gankutsuou

I also find it interesting that a lot of his roles are shared with Jamieson Price, Clancy Brown, Richard Epcar, Michael McConnohie, & Steve Blum. & two with Crispin Freeman. Also, he is a very cool guy on Twitter, & it especially awesome that he speaks & occasionally responds to tweets in English. Here's an interview partly in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-_SrwZYW5E

(He kind of sounds like an accented Peter Weller IMO, pretty cool)

All around one of the best Japanese VAs. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday, Joji Nakata! It's more than safe to say that the VA is a badass baritone, and one of those go-to guys for villainous roles. With that said, he can also tackle anti-heroes, mentor archetypes, blood knights, only sane men, and even the occasional protagonist (emphasis on "occasional"). On a side note, he's often compared to Norio Wakamoto in certain circles: both are some of the biggest seiyuu names in the industry, and the two have either worked with one another or shared roles together. Cool.

I'm gonna mention that my favorite Nakata performances for the time being are Goodman, Alucard, Corporal Giroro, Algol, Peterhausen, Liver, Gyuki, Nrvnqsr "Nero" Chaos, Bandou, Sol Badguy, E-102 Gamma, and Albert Wesker.

Minute as the character was in the context of the film, Joji did real well voicing Balrog (M. Bison) in the SFII movie. Of course his Kazuya Mishima was not bad, too.

He's got really a lot of great roles, but my favorite one probably is Edmond Dantes (as iconic Kotomine and Alucard are).
As for his most unusual roles, where he shows a great range - I guess I'll name Nyanta, Shigaraki and Ieyasu.

You know, it would have been interesting to see how his Kazuya voice would have sounded if he had the opportunity to voice him throughout the games after Tekken Tag Tournament. That deep, inposing, charismatic sound he's known for fits Kazuya to a T.

@Shaun Ince Maybe so, but tbh I see him more as Jack or Heihachi himself.

@huzaifa_ahmed Nakata as Heihachi? I dig it.

Wait, E-102 Gamma = Dark Oak = Rossiu (older) = Zavok? Okay.

Congrats on 200 roles Joji Nakata. One of my personal favorite Seiyuu's of all time. He oozes badassery & charisma with his deep baritone voice. Alucard, Kirei Kotimine & many more, are just a blast to listen to. He even has the honor of being the first VA, to voice Kazuya Mishima in the earlier Tekken games.

Rejoice That Today Is Joji Nakata's Birthday!

Easily one of the all time greatest seiyuus. Kirei Kotomine is his finest role to date. He's equally as magnificent as The Count, Alucard, Gyuki and Master Megatron.
