Happy Birthday, John Swasey!

He was great as Van Hohenheim from FMA: Brotherhood and as Crocodile/Mr. 0 from One Piece! I also really liked his Dodoria from the DBZ Kai FUNimation dub!

Happy Birthday John Swasey!!!

I'm not super familiar with his work, but I really like what I've heard of his Van Hohenheim & Crocodile/Mr. 0. Those are probably my two favorite roles of his.

He was also great as Salvador, Flanksteak, Dodoria, The Farmer with the Shotgun, & Oda Nobunaga!!!

Happy Birthday John Swasey!

Fantastic VA, it's not hard to see why he's one of the most hard-working in the state of Texas. Perfectly capable of doing really deep gruff voices to even really high pitch and light ones. My favourite role of his would have to be the first role I ever recognized him as Death in Soul Eater, such a hilarious funny voice, reminds me a whole lot of Paul Dobson's Myoga. His Van Hohenheim was also really good, even though I still prefer Scott McNeil's take in the 2003 version, though I understand why Swasey was chosen, since he and Kent Williams sound pretty spot on to each other.

I also loved his performances as Dodoria, ZTV Cell Games Reporter, The Farmer with a Shotgun, Salvador, Hades/Precht, Mansuke Jinnouchi, Leon Riviere, Yuzuru Suoh and Howard el Bridget.

John Swasey is an excellent voice actor he gave one of the strongest performances from the English Dub of Brotherhood and that's saying something considering there were so many wonderful performances through out the run of the series. John steals every scene he is in while playing Hohenheim I love how his voice can go from sounding so cold and filled with regret to being kind and wise John has a real presence about his voice and there are many more performances from him that I've yet to discover so I'm looking forward to discovering more strong performances from John in the years to come.
