Happy Birthday, Janice Kawaye!!!

I remember from a long time ago that you were Gi on Captain Planet and the Planeteers, and I loved that show.

Happy Birthday Janice Kawayne.

She was so cute as XJ-9/Jenny and is way too underused for my liking.

I'm curious, is she retired? I can find nothing about her online, no social media or anything, she's not associated by her original agency (CESD) anymore, and she hasn't done anything in over a year.

I don't think she is. I can't confirm, but there's at least 2 (maybe more) games that I think she's in. Of course they're uncredited roles. There's also a person who's been in a few BangZoom dubs, who may or may not be an alias of hers.

I believe she was Visco in the witch and the Hundred Knight.

Considering that she's reinvested in Cup of Tea Productions in recent years (Soulcalibur V and both Xillias) I say thee, nee.

@Dark Kuja I recently found out that she's going under a new name now since she got married (didn't realize this until I interviewed Quinton Flynn and he told me she had gotten married a couple years ago)

She goes under the name Janice Roman Roku and she was in Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet as Melty (I knew when I was watching it that it was blatantly Janice as it sounded exactly like X-J9)

If Kill La Kill ever gets an English dub, she should be Mako.

Janice is always my favorite. I love hearing her speak Japanese as XJ9 and Ami. I wish I watched her in real life on YouTube.

@Neosz369 - I would like to hear more from her, as well. She does some anime and games but not enough for this fan!

Janice Kawaye barely gets any recognition, praise, or work it seems. It's sad because she's such a great voice actress. I love most of the roles she did, especially Jenny from "My Life as a Teenage Robot," which is my favorite from her. She also did great voicing Ayane and Yuzu. Love your work Janice and I hope you get more exciting work in the future!

Keep rocking. :)

@BlueSkySlash I'm almost tempted to say that she's a bit underrated... And that's not cool, considering we have such overexposed VAs such as Johnny Yong Bosch, Laura Bailey, and Scott McNeil. In fact, most of her roles are actually pretty good, and there's a reason: she's half-Japanese from the research I did... But overall, that means nothing and she's just underrated.

@Ninjaman15 No offense but what does the fact she's half Japaneses have to do with anything?

@Neosz369 - Yes, I would like to see more roles for Janice Kawaye. She's one of my favorites. According to a source, she has been busy recording voices for games No, I'm not saying who my source is.

@Ninjaman15 - what research did you do that concluded she's half-Japanese? Both of her parents are Japanese-Americans.
