its pretty fun to think that the Kindhearted Strongest man in the world is voiced by the same actor
as the the Strongest Soldier of Madness and God Complex.

I really like his Superman voice. I prefer Tim but there's something special about this guy.

While we do have Henry Cavill to portray Live Action Superman in my opinion George Newbern will always be the best voice for Superman.

Considering Sephiroth is more or less an idea of what Superman could be like if he ever went evil, I think it's fitting that George voices both of them.

@Dark Kuja Hmm... There's a good point. That said, I myself would still cast George as Vincent and Crispin Freeman as Sephiroth and.... oh god, ANOTHER Superman actor XD

Though on that note, I wonder how Tim Daly would pull of Sephiroth?

@Aussieroth Listening to Daly as Superman and Bizarro, I think he'd sound about exactly like George Newbern's Sephiroth if he mixed the voices together to do an "evil Superman".

@Galactic_Cyrus Actually I think he might come up with something more his own take.

@Aussieroth The point is that he'd start with mixing his Superman and Bizarro voices before he got down his own take. It's the sort of thing Mark Hamill once talked about when it comes to voice acting.

So Superman is currently the most popular voice actor right now? Neat!

 2 Shout Outs!
Happy Birthday, Mr. Newbern. I honestly can't say who you're better as: Superman or Sephiroth!
said at 8:01 AM on Sun Dec 30 2012
@Madness Abe honestly in my op, Superman. That one he just kept getting better and better. Sephiroth.... he went downhill from KH2. Which I don't get considering he's just an incredible actor
said at 8:33 AM on Sat Sep 28 2013
@Aussieroth COMPLETELY disagree there. Sephiroth sounded very bored and too...normal in KH2. George didn't really put too much effort into giving the character a distinct voice. He actually sounded intimidating and evil in AC when he added that sneering rasp to his voice, and in his few lines I think that was his strongest performance as Sephiroth. He also did great in CC sounding like a more humane, almost Superman-esque version of the character, and went back to the "Patrick Bateman" voice for a slightly stiffer rendition of his AC performance in the Dissidia games. All in all, he's been solid as the character.

I also take back saying Paul Dobson would've sat well with me as Sephiroth. He'd sound a bit TOO deep and more Wakamoto-esque than Morikawa-esque. So George Newbern, Skip Stellrecht, or Crispin Freeman would be my top three choices for the voice of Sephiroth.

@Galactic_Cyrus Really? I thought he was bland as Sephiroth in nearly EVERYTHING involving the character. KH2 it worked because he was a nobody and not meant to have emotion. In CC however, I'll give you that he was ok other than an the awkward laugh and when he became evil. Dissida I thought he was meh, and not just him but nearly everyone in Dissidia 012 was WOEFUL! All in all I don't blame him for that, I blame the director and the English re-writes.

I still think Paul Dobson could suit him perfectly. Hell there was a time when he was apparently cast for the role but they changed companies or something like that from what I've heard but that was years ago. He could easily do Sephiroth, characters like that are his bread and butter. Not to mention he does Morikawa roles, prime example: Naraku from Inyuyasha. Otherwise, I'd make him Weiss!

Crispin is my no.1 hands down, he almost got the role I heard and why they didn't give him the role I don't know nor care because whatever reason it was I can guarantee it's stupid XD. Skip as Sephiroth...... noooow you've gotten me thinking hard mate.

@Aussieroth I guess my ears are different then. He wasn't a Nobody in KH2: he was "Cloud's darkness" in some vaguely explained bull**** subplot. If you go look up the scene where Sora first encounters him and before and after his battle, he sounds very bored and casual rather than menacing and sinister. His AC performance blows it completely away. Yeah, he was awful and overly growly as evil Sephiroth in CC, but I chalk that up to him being out of practice. In Dissidia he did a slightly less epic variant of his AC performance, and in Dissidia 012 he was less epic variant of that first Dissidia performance, sounding a tad lighter and less deep than before, similar to Doug Erholtz' Squall in that same sequel. But all in all, I'm fine with his Sephiroth. And I still swear to this day that it sounds like Patrick Bateman's internal soliloquies.

I thought Paul Dobson was a rumor. I can imagine Dobson pulling it off, it's just that it's not THE most ideal voice I'd imagine a character like Sephiroth to have.

For any "not George Newbern" voices for Sephiroth, Skip in his Vicious voice is my no.1. However, thanks to names you've brought up, it's now followed by Crispin, followed by Paul Dobson, followed by John Rafter Lee. And maybe Christian Bale too, but that'd sound like Newbern anyway. Just definitely not Lance Bass! XD
