Happy Birthday and RIP Ernest Borgnine.

Mermaid Man had to be one of the funniest senile old guys in cartoon history.

He was going strong right up until his death with energy for every role he took on like in RED and he was also great back in day in movies like The Poseidon Adventure.

I wished he could have lived to be a hundred. Godspeed Ernest Borgnine and remember kids to say no to EEEEEEEVIL.

I remember Me and my family went to see him a year before he died at a screening of Poseidon Adventure at this theatre in Chicago where they have the actors come to talk about the film (I saw Martin Landau two years ago).

I remember my dad wore his spongebob tie to the event, and when we got in line we got our pictures taken all together with Ernest but I saw my Dad go over to Ernest and say "I know this is a bit odd but...can you sign my tie?" and Ernest didn't even hesitate, he signed it while my dad was wearing it. And when we were sitting in the theatre he came down the aisle and saw my dad, patted him on the shoulder and told him "You tell your son to watch out for EVIL" and that is one of my favorite moments in my life.

RIP Ernie you wonderful man

RIP. Mermaid Man was one of the greatest cartoon heroes of all time.

I really hope they don't recast Mermaid Man in general. I hope they retire him and Barnacle Boy.

Most people may know him as Mermaid Man, but I'll always best remember him as MST3K's favorite nightmare fetishist, Grandpa Borgnine.

As many people may have seen Ernest in all his movies, he also left a lasting on kids as well, from his portrayal of Mermaid Man. Think of how many millions of kids will always know his voice. There can be no greater tribute!

Stainlaus Katzinsky from All Quiet of the Western Front! Even though I didn't like the book, I was surprised that he was in the movie...
