Rest in peace, Debbie Reynolds. Your work in film and voice-acting was commendable, and I hope you and your daughter can reunite.

Did not know that Debbie and Carrie were related till now. Both will be greatly missed.

I also recalled Ms. Reynolds in the Halloween Town movies that I saw as a kid on Disney Channel years ago, while they weren't all that great, she was one of the best parts of the movies IMO.

She was Charlotte?? I didn't know that!

I loved her guest appearance on 'The 7D', by the way.

Just one day after Carrie passes away, Debbie Reynolds then passes away.

It is such an awful feeling for a woman at her age live long enough to see her daughter die, no parent should have to outlive their own child.

While I'm not as familiar with Debbie Reynolds filmography, I did think she was a good actress and VA. I rather liked her performances as Lulu Pickles on Rugrats and Nana Possible on Kim Possible.

It's also cool that she voiced Charlotte in Charlotte's Web too, I never saw that movie but I might have to check it out now in her memory.

Such a sad time this week.

RIP Debbie Reynolds!

You will be missed.

Not Debbie Reynolds as well...

She will always be our 'Lucky Star' and a woman who could make even an arachnid adorable songstress.

"How very special are we
For just a moment to be
Part of life’s eternal rhyme
How very special are we
To have on our family tree
Mother Earth and Father Time"

Thank You Mrs Reynolds, may you and your daughter find peace somewhere with warm Autumn winds.

RIP Debbie Reynolds. Incredibly sad to loose her right after her daughter Carrie.

I loved her as Charlotte in Charlotte's Web.

Debbie Reynolds was in one of my favorite movies growing up: Charlotte in CHARLOTTE'S WEB. Her warm performance defined the character, and she sang beautifully well. So I was delighted to hear her voice in KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE. She was great in that role as well.

How tragic that she is no longer with us. (Even more surprising that it happened just after her daughter passed!) Debbie Reynolds will be missed. Her voice will live on forever, however.

I was going to post this on Carrie Fisher's page yesterday. But I suppose I might as well put it here.

Let's cut to the facts. Death is scary. It's traumatic. Life isn't permanent and we all know that, but that doesn't change the fact that any loss of life is still a tragedy.

So we all try to cope. And it's an easy defense mechanism to notice the correlation of famous people's deaths with the current year. It's easy to curl up and become nihilistic regarding the current state of things.

But in the long term this just isn't healthy. Death won't stop as soon as a calendar year is over. Nature doesn't play by those rules. We can't keep blaming external factors beyond anyone's control for everything, especially when said factors are not even the direct cause.

Stuff like this is painful and it's human nature to find a scapegoat. But it's a form of denial. If lots of people die the next year, or the year after that, it's simply unhealthy to move from one scapegoat to the next. In the long-term, continuing to act like that is dangerous and brings only further pain.

There's no easy answer or one way to cope that isn't painful in some way. Tragic things happen and that's the nature of life. But life also goes on. People will keep waking up the next day, they'll keep going to work or school, they'll keep making eggs.

All we can do is make the most of it. Tell your friends and family you love them. Death and tragedy will always exist. We have to respect those who have gone and not use them as a tool to fuel nihilistic and cynical thoughts.

Maybe I worded this badly and believe me full well I know what it's like to be in a hard place. I'm just typing this out very raw, stream-of-conscience. But this is how I feel about things. Please don't blame a calendar year for people's deaths. Life is beautiful, precious, and ephemeral. People will always be there to support and help cope. Instead of focusing and placing the blame on things beyond anyone's control, and using the loss of others as a tool to drive feelings of defeat, we have to accept life and all that entails. It's never going to be easy. Life will go on, warts and all, regardless of what the calendar year is. But if we truly want to attain peace, we shouldn't direct feelings of anger toward immaterial things or use them as justification for pessimistic thoughts.

The reason many deaths affect us strongly is because they were our heroes. They inspired us all greatly. We should live life in a way that would make them proud, and that even in the smallest of ways, we can become heroes to the people around us as well. That's what they would want of us.

Side note, Lulu Pickles was actually my favorite role of hers.

RIP Debbie Reynolds, I can't believe she passed just one day after her daughter. :(

I enjoyed her live action performances as Kathy Selden in "Singin in the Rain" and Aggie Cromwell in the "Halloweentown" series. I also enjoyed her voice work as Charlotte in "Charlotte's Web" (the animated version), Lulu Pickles in "Rugrats", Madame in "Kiki's Delivery Service", and Nana Possible in "Kim Possible".

Losing the mother and the daughter barely one day apart. Unbelievable. I hope everyone in her family is doing well. They really seem like they could use a lot of love right now.

At the very least, at 84, she got to live a long, full life. It's just so unfortunate this had to happen so soon after what happened to Carrie.
