Happy Birthday Daran Norris!

The guys is an enigma. He's one of the few VA's to really do it all. Cartoons, Anime, Video Games and a decent amount of live-action roles too, plus he has an amazing vocal range. My favourite role has got to be Knock Out from Transformers Prime, it's not hard to see why Knock Out became the breakout character of the show, a hilarious, vain narcissist Decepticon medic with a hint of psycho in him. A good example of a classic archetype (like Tracks or Sunstreaker but with a Decepticon medic twist that hadn't been done before). I'm really hoping that Knock Out returns for RID next season because wouldn't that be a blast?

His range on The Fairly Odd Parents is where I grew up listening to him the most, even though I really dislike the show nowadays I can't hate any of Daran's roles or performances. It amazes that he did Cosmos, Mr. Turner and Jorgen Von Strangle. All distinct, funny and memorable roles.

I also loved his performances as Spottswoode, Vincent Volaju, Cowboy Andy Von de Oniyate, Alexander Lloyds, Mario, Mercurymon, Heavy Load, Red Alert, Cyclonus, Jack Smith, J. Jonah Jameson, Venom and his many other roles in the Spider-Man games.

I also remember him as Gordy the Janitor on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide too, good times.

Happy Birthday to my favorite voice-actor of all time! Even though he's been my favorite VA for well over a year, I'm still continually surprised by his range as I hear more of his characters, and I think he still has far more to offer beyond what he's shown so far.

I would really like to see him get cast as more main characters in the future. I'm happy that he usually has a considerable amount of material even when a lot of his roles are side characters, but with his versatility he could easily play many more lead roles than he does.

This guy in my opinion should be voicing King K. Rool in future Donkey Kong Series and Mario Spin Offs (If there's any game that was really fun to play).

Not only he voiced any other character that was serious, evil & threatening but also comical, over-the-top humorus & good. In fact, I thought he managed to balance out both good and evil in a serious and funny way (As other did too don't get me wrong). Who's with me?

I just realized that in the 7 months I have been on this site, I had NOT favorited him until now.

Never have I been more ashamed in my entire life.

Happy Birthday to my favorite VA! The range, the charisma, that darn Spottswoode voice of his I imitate so often, and just what an awesome performer. He seems to be having fun in just about every role of his I've heard! And that energy of his is something I consider an inspiration. In closing; I know the whole "Dinkleberg" thing, but I'm going to recite another line that should be infamous among his fans: SPIDER-WUSS! COME OUT AND PLAY!!!

I grew up with The Fairly OddParents and the Spider-Man PS1 games where he defined Venom for me and still did well with all his other roles in that game, where he was about a third of the cast. Like a lot of you guys on here, I have entertained the idea of pursuing voice acting as a career. I know it's a trickier business than some and I'm not quite aspiring to be one, but this man is definitely one of my true inspirations to even consider it.

Thank you for being a part of this business, Daran Norris. You are one of the greats.
