When I was watching Green Lantern: The Animated Series, I was wondering why Cleric Loran sounded like Christopher Lee. Now that I know it was Burton, it makes sense. He had played Dooku in Clone Wars as well.

@Shiny Raticate Lee was very impressed by burton`s voice match that he wondered why people would call him for voice over considering he does an excellent voice match.

What can I say? He's the Ultimate Impressionist, no doubt about it. Seriously - every role Corey imitates from a previous Disney actor (and even the great Christopher Lee himself) has been nothing short of flawless and is at least 90% identical. Huge props to Corey and to the versatility of his vocal chords!

Happy Birthday Corey Burton!!

One of the few voice actor veterans working for both Disney and Warner Bros. and I admired the amount or versatility he put into the characters he portrayed such as Brainiac, Cad Bane, Shockwave, Yen Sid, Count Dooku, Ludwig Von Drake, Dale, Captain Hook, among many others!!

Happy Birthday Corey Burton!

My top 10 favourite roles of his are:

1.) Shockwave (Transformers)
2.) Megatron (Transformers: Animated)
3.) Cad Bane (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
4.) Count Dooku (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
5.) Hugo Strange (Batman: Arkham Asylum)
6.) Brainiac (Superman: The Animated Series)
7.) Ludwig Von Drake (Disney)
8.) Dale (Chip 'N Dale - Rescue Rangers)
9.) Ratchet (Transformers: Animated)
10.) V.V. Argost (The Secret Saturdays)

Another of the great VA's that was difficult compiling into a simple top 10 list.

It was really cool hearing him in the final season of Samurai Jack as the crows all yelling Murder at Jack, now that is some range, I never would have imagined coming from Corey.

Happy Birthday Corey Burton! One of the all-time greatest voice actors ever!

His range is incredible and just when we think he has shown us everything he can do, he does another unique and creative voice or performance. What is it this guy cannot do?

His work in The Transformers franchise is some of his best and my personal favourite. Shockwave obviously being his most iconic role, a very fitting voice for a cold logic based machine. The fact he voiced Spike Witwicky the main human too as both a teen and an adult is very impressive. Then of course we flash forward to twenty years with Transformers Animated where he became the new voice for Ratchet, the crotchety grumpy veteran medic and Megatron, where he gave such a chilling, cold and calculating voice for a charismatic leader, it still sends shivers down my spine listening to that voice and of course he reprises as Shockwave which was awesome and even Spike too in an episode. Its a shame he has not reprise Shockwave in a while or taken on any new roles in the franchise in some time. Hopefully that will changes in the future.

His impression of the late Christopher Lee is just godly, obviously Corey nailed Count Dooku in The Clone Wars cartoon, Even Christopher had heard it and even wondered why he had to bother being there if Corey could replicate his voice that well.

I also loved his many other performances including Brainiac, Hugo Strange, Weather Wizard, Red Tornado, Brain, General Zahl, Killer Moth, Toy Man, Captain Marvel, Solomon Grundy, Scarecrow, Abin Sur, Cleric Loran, Time Trapper, Ludwig Von Drake, Chip, Zipper, Captain Hook, Gaetan Moliere, Zeus (Both Disney and God of War), Cad Bane, Ziro the Hutt, V.V. Argost, Malware, Brainstorm, Mr. Bowman, Tomax, Law and Dracula.

Also that is awesome he was the very first VA added to the site.

It really is a shame that's it been at least six years since his last role and performance in the Transformers franchise, last voicing Shockwave in the WFC Gamestop commercial. I can understand him not reprising Shockwave in DOTM since he was sa red herring in that movie or in Prime since that version of Shockwave is much more emotionally detached and far more bulkier in design (David Sobolov) fit that version perfectly, but I don't know why they didn't get him back for any of the Cybertron games or Transformers: Devastation. Granted in Devastation, Shockwave's roles was rather minor, but in an age where we're getting more G1 VA's coming back to their iconic roles, I just find it strange that Corey hasn't come returned in a while especially since he was one of the first to come back for a new series (TFA). I'm not saying he needs to voice Shockwave over and over, I'm sure if he was in the RID cartoon, he'd probably would end up doing what Gregg Berger did and be cast as a new character for the show, and that would be great. I don't know if he's rather hesitant on coming back to the franchise after feeling disappointed his performance in the Gamestop commercial or how Shockwave was depicted in DOTM. Maybe I am overthinking this, I mean Corey is obviously a very busy man and VA, but still it would be nice to hear him in Transformers again in the near future. I also hope someday he does a Transformers convention, I mean Frank Welker is now doing them. Corey would be the next holy grail.

I like to imagine if the Devastation game got a sequel and Shockwave's role was bigger, he'd reprise him, maybe also reprise Sunstreaker, Alpha Trion and maybe even take over as G1 Ratchet, doing a Don Messick inspired performance which I'm sure he'd be able to pull off well.

Anyways Happy Birthday Corey Burton!

Still one of the best in the business.

The man of a thousand voice. And all of them sound the same.

Hey Burton! Acting like an old, britsih guy does not a good Christopher Lee impression make!

@VoiceCritic So his Captain Hook and his Braniac sound the same? His Megatron, Ratchet, and Soundwave all sound the same? I don't know what you have against him, but all you have to do is go through his available clips to realize how absurd your first statement is (and he's done many more characters that don't even have clips yet).

What possessed you to write this?

Corey Burton had a huge impact on my interest in voice acting.

The first time I heard his voice for Brainiac was the first time I wanted to know the name of an actor who voiced a character with a great voice I liked.

Since then I always watch the ending credits of any cartoon, anime, movie or video game. :)

He's definitely one of the best in the business!
