Quotes:
"Other than Vegeta, who is my favorite character despite the fact that I voice him, I have to admit I really like Trunks. He is just so...cool. Think about it-Trunks-the lone survivor of the apocalypse, son of the most angry and the most headstrong characters. Frieza- BAM! King Cold-BAM!! Cell-BAM!! Androids-BAM!! He comes on strong and leaves even stronger. You've gotta love him. Eric Johnson, the voice of Trunks, is an astounding actor."

My favorite non-DBZ role of his will always be Giroro in Sgt. Frog. Seriously, Sabat's voice is PERFECT for a drill sergeant character like that!
His range really was explored in DBZ. For years, I had no idea so many characters were voiced by the same person...

There are very few voice actors I follow and know by name. A lot of them are part of the Dragon Ball Z cast. Chris Sabat is one of my favorites, it would be nice to meet him one day. I hope work in the future is well for him and many others.

You sound like you have some personal problem with Mr. Sabat. Because you don't have very good facts.
1. Todd Haberkorn was the director for D. Grayman. Todd has said that FUNimation said he shouldn't do accents.
2. This makes no sense. It seems like he uses FUNimation's best actors. He probably is friends with them, but he probably knows more voice actors than anyone else, so all the actors are his friends. H
3. He's said at conventions that the only people he recasts are people who are not available or don't want to do the role any more. And really the only recasting it seems like he did was on Dragonaball Z Kai, and some of those original actors aren't even acting any more.
4. In interviews and at conventions, Chris is a funny, modest person who never really brags about anything, unless he's joking. The only time it looks like he hypes something is when FUNimation is hyping it, which means he has to do it.
Your entire comment sounds suspicious to me, especially because you are "anonymous". Are you a bad actor or something that Chris doesn't like or something? Probly.
Anyway, the one thing you were right about was how good he was on Vegeta, Zoro and Armstrong.

For some reason, I think Sabat would make for a GREAT Iori Yagami from The King of Fighters.

Its cool that Drummond liked Sabat's portrayal of Vegeta, does anyone know what Sabat thinks about Drummond's portrayal of Vegeta?

Chris is easily one of best voice actors in the world..he uses his friends clearly because they are among the best in there field(that should be common sense right there)any criticism that you have about him is pointless..the man is indeed among the living Greats..he may only be second to Kent Williams.

anonymous;
I don't know about this... since he tends to play/portray/voice strong, tough, or grouchy characters. And why the pros and cons? Are you a critic? Why no accents? Haven't you watched D.Gray-Man yourself? Why still cast the same? He does the recasting? And why the positive and negative? My, you're kind of skilled..

While I think he's a great voice actor I'm not a fan of his voice directing decisions.
1. No accents in D.Gray-man
2. He casts the same voice actors in all dubs he works on (basically just uses his friends)
3. If a voice actor isn't nearby, he'll recast them even if the voice actor is flawless in the role. (Pretty lazy IMO)
4. He tries to over-hype anything he works on (I think people can decide for themselves)
Now some positive words.
- Fantastic as Vegeta
- Fantastic as Roronoa Zoro
- Fantastic as Alex Louis Armstrong

Sabat played Nappa for the original release of Bardock-The Father of Goku and some flashbacks in the show. But Phil Parsons redubbed Nappa's lines in Bardock for the remastered DVD release.

The clip of Nappa seems totally off, I have never heard him sound like that - I suppose it could be the original dub or something, I just remember it as a child and the new FUNimation DVDs I have now.
I'd probably laugh if I were to watch the show and Nappa sounded exactly like Piccolo.
It surprised me that he was also Zarbon, although once you know that it becomes obvious.

He was at his very best as leads Saiga in Speedgrapher and as Roy Revant in Solty Rei. He acted as voice director for Solty Rei as well iirc.
