Chris is great as Agent Shu, Shesta, Tecchi, Takenaka Hanbei, Holy Roman empire, M1/ Yen, Forsyth, Marmas, Hoteye, Kazamachi Shogen, Mr. Popo, Siegfried, Haruki Hanai, and Gluttony

Based on what I've seen of him he has a thing for being typecasted in loud characters, which honestly works quite well. His Forsyth was hilarious and his Gluttony was also pretty fun as well.

Happy Birthday Chris Cason!

My top 5 favourite roles of his are:

1.) Gluttony (Fullmetal Alchemist)
2.) Agent Shu (Dragon Ball)
3.) Mr. Popo (Dragon Ball Z)
4.) Marmas (The Seven Deadly Sins)
5.) M1/Yen (Yu Yu Hakusho)

I've noticed this year has been a bit quite for him in voice directing in comparison to last years, hopefully it picks up for him next year.

Chris Cason never ceases to make me laugh with his more excitable roles. XD First there's Siegfried with his "WE SHALL BATTLE AT THE BASTILLE" and then Forsyth with his reading on the battlefield and mimicking a whiplash sound...

I still want to see B'tX - I've already watched it in Japanese, so I really want to know what his Hokuto sounds like.

Happy Birthday, Chris Cason! These days, whenever I see his name, I think more of his work as a voice director than an actor; Cason's handling of the One Punch Man English dub was rather exceptional. As far as favorite roles go, they include Gluttony, Mr. Popo, Shu, Slugerous, Jack the Ripper, and... yes, even Bad Box Art Mega Man.

Cason is doing a fantastic job with Seven deadly Sins and the narration. He's certainly proven himself as a director as well.

Happy Birthday Chris. You have incredible range and are a wonderful actor. And after watching The Seven Deadly Sins dub, you definitely deserve to direct more shows because the dub is awesome thanks to you

Happy Birthday Chris Cason!

He really is an underrated VA in just about every way, Gluttony is easily his best role to date and he is also excellent as Mr. Popo and Agent Shu too.

also congrats on being the ADR director for The Seven Deadly Sins, I definitely want to check out that dub in the near future. I Hope this is the start of bigger and brighter things for him.

In just one year since he took up ADR directing full time, he's managed to end up becoming one of my new favourite voice directors. (Yes I'm aware he did direct for Funimation earlier in his career)

His dubs for shows like The Seven Deadly Sins, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans and my personal favourite One Punch Man! are all excellent dubs. One Punch Man in particular might be my favourite dub this year.

Chris really is a really talented voice director and Bang Zoom! is really lucky to get their hands on another great one, he's already proven himself to be as worthy like other great fellow Bang Zoom! directors Tony Oliver and Alex Von David.

I also really liked his performances on Yu Yu Hakusho as well.

and he also did make for a great narrator on The Seven Deadly Sins. I'm definitely looking forward to the second season's dub.

Happy Birthday Chris Cason!

Well Chris is definitely moving up on the LA scene a bit, he's the ADR Director and Narrator for the Seven Deadly Sins dub, Netflix's latest exclusively licenced anime.

And after 6 eps of the show so far, he's definitely done a good job on both fronts. Hopefully this opens up plenty more opportunities for him.

He's got a really good "character" voice, but it would be cool to hear him as some leads as well.

Hope L.A. is treating Chris well. It was great hearing him in Demon Gaze on the Vita. Here's hoping he lands some bigger game roles in the future.

I like his reasoning for moving out to L.A. He said during a conventional panel that he felt complacent and wants to broaden out. Also he likes the weather in L.A.

While I'm sure there's truth to what he said I have a feeling he may have also been forced to consider other career options. He's not in as many Funimation dubs as he used to be and in recent years a whole new crop of VAs have made some "first generation" VAs like Cason disposable... Not to mention that there's been an increase in out of town/state talent coming to Dallas to work on Funimation dubs (Houston, L.A.) which probably only intensifies the competition during auditions.

Chris Cason attends a lot of conventions and I wouldn't be surprised if that's been the primary source of his income for a while now because I doubt he could live off of money from only a few anime jobs.

I'm not a huge fan of Chris Cason but he had his moments over the years so I wish him the best of luck in California.

I suppose it's too bad that he never got a chance to shine in bigger roles but unfortunately many Funimation ADR Directors often spoil VAs they personally like or are jumping on a bandwagon and casting some up-and-coming rookie who's flavor of the year (only to switch to a new flavor the following year)...

@lazydude500 That reasoning seems... fairly valid. But like you said, a shame he couldn't shine on bigger roles. We'll just have to wait and see what California has in store for him.

My favorite Chris Cason voice role is Gluttony and he was the ADR Director for Birdy the Mighty: Decode which has an excellent English dub!Hopefully some time in the near future Funimation will allow him to direct some more English dubs!

Agreed! His Seigfried was great!

I also like these other roles of his:

- Haruki Hanai (School Rumble)
- Boo (Shin Chan)
- Agent Shu (Dragon Ball)

Gluttony (FMA) and Chamo (Negima) were both pretty good too.
