The late Machiko Soga was the live actress. Barbara just did the voice.

@Fulgore2005 She IS a good actress, but I wasn't thrilled with her Pazu in the JAL dub of "Laputa", nor any of her roles in the older dub of "Akira." I will say she DID sound great in the older dub of "Kiki", in "Metropolis" and other dubs I've been fortune to hear her in. It just depends, I guess, on the circumstances of the project.

Shame she isn't as active as she used to be. It would be nice to hear more of her. :'(
